Remember that there is a GPU lottery and some graphics cards might be able to clock slightly higher than others.

Timespy 1.0? 1.0 isn’t stressful to the gpu like timespy extreme, so you can expect most people get close to or over 10k without trying.

Just look up the hall of fame and search for 1080ti with the same cpu you use. You can see everyone’s scores.

How many people have managed to score above 10.000 points with a 1080Ti (SC2) on air, so no hybrids or custom loops?

Seeing some overclock settings on these forums, i see watercooled cards can more or less simply go +100 core + 500+ memory and that should do it easily... My best score currently is 9932 with +65 core, +445 memory, PL and temp limit maxed, but that was a lucky shot in 5 tries, where other 4 didn't complete or even start, after that score dropped to 6k for some reason and temps never got above 75°C (i have the leds turn red at 75) with 25.5°C room temp. Haven't gotten a FireStrike and Skydiver score with that overclock yet, will probably need to raise voltage a bit as that might be the limit for my air cooled SC2 and maybe the silicone lottery.
 
Also worth noting is that i'm running it in the x8 slot because the x16 slot hasn't worked properly since day 1 on my motherboard, as soon as drivers load and card gets detected in device manager, i get BSOD and VGA error light on the motherboard, very rarely boots to login screen. And it happened with the 1070, Vega 64, 1050ti and now the 1080ti, so it's 100% the slot. Not sure how much slower x8 is compared to x16, maybe on this card it might be noticeable compared to my previuos ones?
 
I've seen some RMA cases where the SC2 would dramatically lose performance, will try a longer gaming session to see if anything happens or if it's just some weird 3dmark/XOC thing that drops scores a lot or maybe somekind of throttling.

My average Time Spy score is about 10.2k. +- 50 points. Using the x8 slot is losing you about 2%. I hold +190 @ 2088 and +775 on the memory. Your SC2, having higher base clocks, will boost a bit higher at lower offsets. I've run up to +200 @ 2101 and +800 on the memory but that gets a bit flaky, so I dial it down a touch for a 100% stable driver comparison. For those wondering, the drivers have not changed the score at all in the last year. 

Today i'm running +50 core, +500 memory, power target 120% and temp target 90°C, priority to power and it's totally stable, did all 3dmark benchmarks twice in a row and never failed at any.
Maybe the priority change helped or it just doesn't like more core mhz. Will try to up core now and see what happens.

Moving to benchmarking section of Forums

Well i bought the motherboard in June and had 7700k with a 1070 then, i just switched motherboards and kept the same Win 10 installation. On first restart it wouldn't boot with the VGA debug light on the motherboard, took a couple more tries to boot. Then i did a fresh install and it got worse, to the point that any animation like the home menu opening or dropdown appearing when you right click on the desktop, would crash with a BSOD and then there would be the boot lottery. According to GPU-Z it would run on 1.1 x16 and be very sluggish until it would crash again. Moving to the x8 slot, everything fine, scores on the 1070 overclocked were good, they're still top 50 in Timespy and Firestrike and #8 on Skydiver.

Then i bought a reference Vega 64, which again at the x16 slot kept crashing with the VGA error light, as soon as drivers loaded it was game over. Strangely, at the x8 slot, i ran 3.0 x16, must be an AMD thing. Not sure it was losing anything on that slot, thermal throttling was the biggest problem, but timespy overclock gained almost 550 points with HBM2 at 1100mhz and undervolt.
 
Now this 1080ti is probably suffering the most because of the slot, i emailed the shop where i bought the motherboard but no reply and i don't want to be without a working sysem for a couple of weeks and quite frankly, don't even want another X470 Aourus Ultra Gaming even with a working slot. I might just buy a new board, something better and move everything over, then RMA the current one and sell it if i get a new one.
 
All this is very similat to when the Core P3 riser that comes with it started dying, had strange stutter if you clicked on the start menu, it opened after 2s, also scores were off, it would run at 16 x1.1 most of the time, until one day it died. Got a replacement but afraid to use it and also since the x8 slot is so low, the riser would have to bend a lot which i'm sure would kill it again. On the other hand it would be interesting to see if for some bizarre reason the cards just didn't sit right in the x16 slot, you can wiggle them up and down quite a lot until you secure them to the bracket (that didn't happen on my previous Z270 board) and the M.2 SSD with an EKWB heatshield is just below but doesn't seem to be in the way (thought at first it prevented the cards from sitting all the way into the slot).
 
So yeah, something's not right with the x16 slot and at least one other person on reddit has the same problem, but overall people are happy with these boards.
 
Here's my current best score in TimeSpy: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/4399966 Compared to others i'm missing 75-100mhz core/boost, but memory clocks seem to be ok and i think i can get a little more on memory, but core won't go to +60. I can also try and overclock the CPU (not sure why XFR won't boost higher, on a 360 custom loop it could afford a little more then on the previous 240 AIO) and set the RAM timings with Ryzen calculator, currently just running XMP 3200 profile that's for Intel, so not ideal, but not sure how much that affects the total score as TimeSpy seems to be more GPU focused.
