Hey guys I just got a 1080Ti Kingpin, and I am wondering why it has a lower memory bandwidth than the FTW 3 elite, and what that will affect in performance, will overclocking the memory compensate the stock difference?
If someone from EVGA could explain why the Kingpin hasn't been upgraded to the same or higher bandwidth memory I would appreciate. And also what memory chip is used on the card aon.

Cheers

There will be a slight difference in performance when ran at stock speeds. My 1080 ti kingpin can do 12 GHz easy, so you shouldn't have a problem overclocking to 12 GHz on the memory. Max I can do on my kingpin is 13 GHz on the memory.

Memory chips used on the kingpin... Micron MT58K256M321JA-110:A

Thanks for the reply man. Do you know if the FTW 3 has any headroom to go higher? Also will the memory bandwidth affect only high res like 4k gamming perf or FHD high refresh rates will suffer too?

First question: https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2719524

Second question: All resolutions would be affected. The slight difference won't be noticeable unless you're running a benchmark looking for the difference.
