it looks like DRAM prices will continue to rise as suppliers are keeping manufacturing levels down as not to cause oversupply.

Just to make a lot of money. Just keep a steady flow of chips coming, while paying a premium.

When assembling my new build I was waiting for prices on all components to drop. Except RAM. I bought that right away.

That was wise. If anyone needs to sell used ram now is the time.

for my Intel build it was $49.99.

More recently when I bought this http://www.canadacomputer...326&item_id=099535
for my daughter's Ryzen build it was $189.99.

    Ridiculous.

sounds like price fixing to me like they got caught for in 2004, if they are all limiting supply to drive up prices i think the US DOJ should take a look at their books

Yea might as well wait until I can get a 32 gig dual channel kit when they're cheap again so I can downgrade my current 32 gig quad kit. Even though I know with more modern computers dual channel is not as important as it used to be I'd still like to be running it anyways. Funnily enough when I had the old Cyberpower pc going I was considering doing a downgrade to a dual channel kit but now with the rebuild I definitely want to.

I purchase a 4x8gb 3600 MHz kit two weeks ago and a week later the kit went up $70.00 on the egg.

It seems this is an ongoing theme. I wouldn't be surprised if the industry keeps constricting production until the memory industry faces yet another lawsuit. This isn't the first time that we see this exact same cycle with the exact same players, play out.
