Yep that's right, 19 expansion slots. If you need a mining card I suppose this might work well. Keep in mind that there are some limitations right now until new drivers/cards become available.

    Holy crap.

Does this mean we can all blame ASUS for the GPU shortages now?

    Bad concept.
Does even LINUX support 19 GPUs on one system?
Does anyone even bother THINKING about the nightmare of trying to find risers with LONG ENOUGH CABLES to reach on such a monstrosity system?
The 12/13 PCI-E slot motherboards were dumb enough, this thing is at best just for "bragging rights".

I don't even want to THINK about trying to manage enough power supplies to run 19 boards in a single machine.

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

QuintLeo, they discuss that in the article. AMD will be releasing a driver that allows 19 AMD gpus to work in it, at the moment only half&half NVIDIA + AMD combinations work. If you've looked at some of the hardcore miners you'll see space constraints won't be a problem either.

As the article points out this allows miners to condense multiple PCs into a single PC. They can buy one motherboard, then sell off 3 motherboards, 2 CPUs, and 2 kits of RAM that they were forced to use before for mining. Nevermind the OS licenses and extra power that hardware requires. Miners using that many GPUs already have multiple PSUs hooked up to power them.

Why wouldn't it be? For mining that'd be overkill. It's a dual-channel platform anyway.
