On this edition of EVGA's Rewind Reward, we take a look back at the innovative EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS/GTX ACS3 graphics card first announced on Wednesday, November 8th, 2006.
EVGA, with its continued innovation, updated the original ACS and ACS2 cooler designs with the launch of the GeForce 8800 GTS/GTX. The outcome was the new ACS3 cooling solution on both the EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX and the GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card.
Ahead of its time, the ACS3 cooling solution incorporated a partial back plate for the GPU, heat pipes for cooling, a metal shroud with cutouts and raised portions of the shroud to help dissipate the heat. The ACS3 cooling solution helped keep the 8800 GTS and GTX operating cooler and increased its ability to overclock!
I have a B-Stock 8800GTS from 2010, but it doesn't have this cooler.
