Skylake-X up to 10 cores pre-orders start june 19th, shipping june 26th.
Skylake-X 12 core processor release in august.
All other Skylake-x processors up to 18 cores will release in october.

The HCC processors aren't that far away after all. Intel showed the 18 core i9-7980EX in a demo, so it exists and it is working right now. It's AMDs turn to give us the release dates for Threadripper.

Really shouldn't have been all that hard to get the 18 core working on 2066. Just mounting the chip to a new substrate and minor electrical tweaks. I mean this is literally what they are doing with the 2066 kaby lake. Has anyone seen that? It looks like they glued the 2066 pcb onto the 1151 pcb and just cross connected the pins as needed between the two.

Interesting, I'll wait to see some reviews and MB mfg get the BIOS stable - first

Pre-order, that's a new tactic, usually they act like we can wait, but now they can't (or rather don't want us to).

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].
