Hi,

Got two Kpe 980ti's in SLI and while playing Deus Ex MD for example my primary gpu hits 82 degrees on stock air cooler not really overclocked. The second gpu hits like 74 degrees. Asic scores as reported by GPU-Z are 85 and 86. I want to overclock it a bit but the 82 degree non overclocked temp seems high. Is this normal? What are the tolerances for this gpu?

Thanks

Yes, that is normal. That is the problem with acx cards that recycle air into the case. You would need better cooling, like high flow fans and super high fan speeds (lots of noise) or watercooling, to get better temps.

I have kingpins in SLI and my temps are no higher than 54-65 temp. I do have a corsair H100i on cpu. How are you fan curves set on the cards?

I have just the stock fan profile more or less. How would you setup your fan profile? Max it out?

Do you have EVGA Precision XOC installed? If not install it.

    http://www.evga.com/precisionxoc/

On the right hand side you will see your cards. Click on one and then click the fan icon - on the right bottom kinda on the left. A box will come up and you set custom fan curve.

Let me know how you get on and dont forget to do second card too.

I had precision xoc but had issues with the over lay not working on Deus Ex MD DX12 mode causing Crash to Desktop. So using Afterburner 4.4.0 beta and that works. Thanks.

Did you manage to set a custom set a custom fan curve and have the temps reduced on both cards?

I usually setup a 1 to 1 ratio with the fan profile. Guess I need to go with a more aggressive profile at the cost of extra noise. It's shocking though when you compare the temp to a 1060gtx.

I'll be removing myself from SLI once the EVGA GTX 1080 TI FTW3 is released.

Put on some headphones that dampens noise levels of the rig :)

Yeah not inmpressed with SLI at least on DX12 one fast gpu is all you need.
