Now I want to get rid of it, gets too hot in my case lol.
I've been reading conflicting information, can I or can I not Step Up to a card with the ACX cooler at some point?
When will the cards be available?

We do not know when they will be available, or if they will be added to the step up list. I would say give it a little while to see what becomes available in the near future. We are all waiting for more news :-)

You have a blower style card that gets too hot in your case and you want to get the ACX version instead?
You do know that will very, very likely make temps worse, right?
An ACX card dumps almost all of its heat back into the case (very bad for poor airflow and small sized cases), whereas a blower style ejects almost all of the heat out of the case (ideal for poor airflow and small sized cases).

He's right, Slammy. The blower cards are considered ideal for people with cases that have airflow issues or small form-factor cases where they can't afford to have extra heat dumped inside. If your case is getting too hot now, any other kind of air cooler is likely to be even worse. You might need to consider switching to water cooling, if your case and finances allow for it.

Blower cards are also known to provide worse cooling capability than AIB card. It all depends on his case and fan speed. If he is trying to keep the card quiet, low fan speed on a blower model will generate more heat. Since we have no informstion about the case, unless it is hidden in a signature i cant see, it would be best to help find out what he is using and what kind of fan setup is available. The icx cards may actually be better, even though it generates higher internal case temps.

+1 Are you using OC software to increase the graphic card fan ? What case & number of fans @ what RPM ? What is room temp, your GPU will be 35-50 C warmer than your ambient air If you remove side panel and temps drop it is an airflow issue If your OC the RAM go back to +0, RAM OC adds a lot of heat, the backplate gets very hot

Got my set as well, had 2 980ti's that are almost brand new, and I have to say the difference is immediately noticeable in VR

Not a noob, I know how it works. I have a Corsair 800D, so crap airflow. I had a 1080 founders which I sold to get the Ti.
I have been using an Asus Strix 1070 and it runs silently and at only about 60c overclocked to 2000mhz. Yes it's a less powerful card but the Asus cooler in my opinion is much better due to its size and the 3 fans.
Trying to sell my Ti on CL now.

Yea the 800D was meant for Custom Water Cooling, mine went the way of the Trash Can. I pulled the front off my 800D and put in fans but still was not a good case for Air Cooled Graphics Cards. Time for a new Case that provides better Air Flow. I went over to the Nanoxia Deep Silence 6 Gigantic Tower Case Fits HPTX Motherboard, Large Water Cooler Ready, with 8 Fan Controllers, Air Chimney - Black and Rosewill Gaming Super Tower Computer Case Cases BLACKHAWK-ULTRA Black and my other was the Cooler Master HAF Stacker 935 - Full Tower Computer Case with Top Compartment for Expanded Storage or Water Cooling Support and I really like this one for air cooled and AIO cooling. This would be a better plan than this "Trying to sell my Ti on CL now."

I also have the corsair 800d with 2 1080 FE and I have no problem with heat, so I do not why you are having problems. You are not doing something right with air flow

Also, I have always water cooled my cards. My 800D is modified, I put a 240 radiator in the bottom and a 480 in the top.
So fan wise, I only have two 120mm fans for intake and 4 120mm and a 140mm for exhaust. So I'm running negative air pressure, want to get a new case so that I can run positive air pressure.
I removed the 240 radiator when I got my first 1080. My CPU is being cooled by the 480 radiator.
Guess if my card doesn't sell, I'll just order a block for it and put the 240 rad back in.

Right now, nothing is overclocked in my PC. I'm running my 4790k at stock on custom EK loop with a 480 radiator. My memory is Gskill 2400mhz, I have never overclocked it.

The Ti shoots up to 80+c as soon as I get in a game. I have limited the fan to 75% because after that, it just gets crazy loud. This is at completely stock settings, I haven't even bothered trying to overclock it. It is a beast though, runs BF1 @ 100+ fps maxed out at 1440p +125% scale.
And can run Deus Ex mankind divided at Ultra 1440p at about 70+ fps.

I'm just moving everything down a step. The OG TITAN SC gets retired from PhysX duty, the 980 Ti takes it's place and the 1080 Ti becomes the playa. It will be interesting to see what the 980 Ti does as a PhysX GPU. The TITAN made a large difference on the Borderlands, Batman, etc... etc when using GPU PhysX effects. BTW quite happy going with the 780T over the 800D. The airflow is pretty good, especially after removing the HDD cage in front of the intake fans.

That doesn't seem normal. I've run OG TITAN SC SLI, with GTX 580 wedged in the middle for PhysX in a Antec 900 and my gaming temps stayed in the mid 70'S with a moderately aggressive fan curve. All three being blower style.

Pretty sure it's the lack of airflow.

I'm curious why you don't add a water block to the GPU? Seems like you have the set-up for it. Sorry to hear your having warmish temps.

Oh I probably will lol I was thinking about going air this time on the GPU and just doing a AIO on the CPU and ditching the custom loop.
