I opened my Chrome browser to all bold fonts today.  A bit of time on Google suggested that this issue is frequently caused by Precision X.  After uninstalling the program everything defaulted back to normal (That is browser fonts were displayed properly).  If I reinstall I have this font issue again.

It would be great if this could be fixed in Precision software somehow... Until then I'll probably just avoid using the program unless somebody knows an easy fix.  If you're not familiar with the issue a quick Google search brings up a lot of information / instances of this happening.

    Quick Fix:
Install Precision XOC copy the Fonts to a new location uninstall Precision XOC install the Fonts.
Keep the Fonts for later use or on other computers.

Or EVGA can fix it? I just noticed this myself and wondered what happened. Uninstalled and fonts are fine again. I think this happened before with EVGA and they fixed it. But now it has come back.

Is EVGA even aware of Precision messing with fonts once again?

Someone would need to open a Support Ticket for EVGA to Officially Know.

Ah I know they come around this area and read posts. So I thought they might have known automatically but just not commenting yet.

Yea really annoying. For whatever reason i finally decided to install this today after having built my pc 7 or 8 months ago and noticed some of the pages in chrome had a wicked bold font on them. Hangouts addon is also affected which is where i first noticed this and then went to go search in chrome and saw it there as well. Guess ill just go back to not using it.....

I was hit by this bug and it was extremely annoying. What a huge waste of time figuring this out. Shame on EVGA for having their install program mess up your computer like that.

The quick solution to the problem is to go into your Windows fonts control panel, find "Roboto Bold" and delete it. The Precision XOC program still works without that font, and Google Chrome goes back to working normally.

Alternatively, you can go to Google fonts, download the entire Roboto family, install the fonts, then Google websites will look the way they intended them to. For some reason, Google thinks that Roboto is easier to read than Windows fonts.

If the people who programmed XOC absolutely have to use Roboto instead of Arial (which is found on every computer) then they should put the entire Roboto font family into the installer so it doesn't cause these weird problems with Google Chrome.

Thanks for the tip to uninstall XOC, I installed XOC and figured out that it was causing the issue, and spent hours reinstalling fonts and doing registry tweaks that different sites were recommending, but didn't think to simply uninstall XOC. That was the only thing that put my Chrome fonts back to normal.

Man, this was annoying. Installed my new EVGA 1080 ti yesterday (16 January 2018), along with the Precision XOC software. Eventually found the fix, thanks to someone on Reddit: simply go into the Windows 10 fonts folder and delete the Roboto Bold font. Problem solved.

I'm not uninstalling EVGA Precision X to resolve the bold text issue. Something needs to be done.

I'll report back in a few days/week to see if a resolution has been submitted.

First of all let me congratulate you on building a stunning looking card, on the other hand I don't know under what rock EVGA found there software programmers that designed the EVGA Precision XOC software but it would be better if they go back to that rock.

I bought the 1080 Ti FTW3 and have endless crap with the software and the fan control, when ever the EVGA Precision XOC program closes it stops the fans and there is no way in hell that is normal or save that if program stops the fans should stop as well. I also saw endless questions from other people that have the same card and same problems and yet the last software update was done on version 6.2.3 Release: 11/8/2017, which tells me this is not really a priority for them to fix this issue.

Who had the great Idea in the first place that the fans should only be controlled by the EVGA Precision XOC, what will mean that the fans will stay off until windows boots up.

I don´t remember the card being cheap so I hope that you guys can come back with a solution.

All GPU's have fan control built in.  There is no need for software to control the fans unless you want to have the software do it (fan curve).  In that case you need the software to run it.

I needed a whole set of tools when I was developing a website for my online store. It was important for me to make the site stylish and easy to use. I paid the most attention to colour shades and fonts. Before I started designing, I looked through a some sites to understand what the site developers are focused on and what the audience likes. I consulted with a web designer, and he advised me to make a website in pastel colours and use . I think that this combination is most suitable for conveying the atmosphere of our store because my site belongs to a lingerie store, and women like a romantic and gentle style.
