I've installed the BIOS update that is supposed to help protect my VRM's and ever since that update, now my fans run at 2200rpm whenever i'm in games... It sounds like a jet fighter trying to take off. The noise of this card is annoying now, but thats the least of my problems. Yes the fans run faster, and the chip stays much cooler, tops out around 70-71C(before it would go up to 75-80C under full load, which given the fan speed increase, this is good and expected. The problem is, my card no longer activates the boost clock. at all. It runs at 1709mhz all the time. The fan noise i'm not too worried about as i have a waterblock coming soon from EKWB which will eliminate the noise, as well as properly cool the VRM's, but what good is that going to do when the card's GPU Boost feature was disabled as a result of this bios update?? Is it possible to revert to the old BIOS so i can have my card boost again like it's supposed to? Really disappointed in this card as currently ANY other gtx 1080 would be faster than mine.
*edit*
attached a screen capture after running hwmonitor while playing a game for some time to show max temps, max gpu load, power draw, no idea why its drawwing 107% power to run at base clock speeds...also concerning. I did raise the power limit to see if that would let it boost at all, but no luck. Even when i'm on my desktop, it doesn't even clock down to idle speeds, but at least the fans spin down(mostly) and temps drop.
