Looking at GPU-Z my one card has 86.04.17.01.80, and my other card has 86.04.17.00.80 - Is there any actual difference in these?

The 00 is the original bios... the 01 in a modified bios.... What exactly is the question tho? Or is there a problem? I'm confused.

Wondering where to get the 01 bios for my second card? Should I just dump the bios on the one card, and nvflash it?

Usually there is no way to really know what goes into a new BIOS revision. Sometimes a slight change in manufacturing requires a BIOS change, like if a different type of memory module is used or some other miscellaneous component change.

Is there a problem with your SLI setup? If not, why flash anything?

GPU vBIOS is different than say a motherboard Bios update. Manufacturers will make mobo Bios updates available to provide support along with documentation as to what has changed.
No such thing happens with GPUs.
If you are not having a problem, don't worry about the vBIOS.

If you have two 1080 FTW cards, we do not recommend that you do not try to Flash one card to match the other. So long as each card is either running together in SLI, there is no need to worry about the small difference in the BIOS revision.

Duly noted! Will stave off the want to flash it :)

Think I found a difference... Between my 2 GTX 1080FTW cards, one has 10% more power limit than the other card.
Card1 has a max Power Limit of 120% and 92C which has BIOS 86.04.17.00.80
Card2 has a max Power Limit of 130% and 92C which has BIOS 86.04.17.01.80
Any way to confirm this with the engineering team?

CONFIRMED!
GTX 1080 FTW with BIOS 86.04.17.00.80 will only have a 120% Power Limit range, flashing 86.04.17.01.80 onto the other card put both cards at the 130% range. This should probably be noted somewhere, as 120% vs 130% can limit overclocking on a high end card.

It's my understanding that with the FTW they have two different BIOS' on the BIOS switch. Position 1 is standard and position 2 has the 10% higher power limit. Check to see if your cards were both on the same switch position. I'm sure I saw Jacob tweet it at one point.

I almost asked him to check his switches when he first posted and then assumed he had to have already done so. The slave setting is a 10% higher target and more aggressive fan curve.
What use is knowledge if there is no understanding?~Stobaeus
