I love widescreen gaming 21:9 resolutions.

I have tried 25601440 IPS 144hz monitors, 4k IPS monitors, 4k TN, 21:9 (2560x1080) VA, 21:9 3440x1440p IPS (both 60 hz and 100 hz) and I don't know what to buy.

I recently returned my PG348q because of backlight bleed in the corners - very bright yellow/orange tint in all corners.

I'm leaning towards this one, http://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/curved/34--cf791-wqhd-monitor-lc34f791wqnxza/

What should I get, or what would YOU get and why?

Thanks

That Samsung looks nice, but overall stats aren't all that impressive.

What would I get?   3 of these.   But I recall that you're not a fan of multi monitor setups.

    What stats aren't that impressive?

    High contrast ratio
    4 ms response time
    2 x hdmi 2.0
    3440x1440p - Native 100hz

Deep deep deep blacks - vibrant colors
Curviest monitor on the market 1500r

Also, I have had that monitor before - WAY to much anti-glare coating...  I couldn't stand it

Response time and refresh rates are middling.   And the fact that it has a "game mode".

Don't get me wrong.  It's a gorgeous monitor.  But I tend to look at gaming first and foremost in regards to stats.  And in the end, it doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks.   If you like it, get it.

There is no 3440x1440p monitor on the market that has better than a 4 ms response time (at least that I am aware of).

And this is the first monitor to have a native (not overclocked) 100hz rate at that resolution.

I'm definitely open to constructive criticism because spending 1k on a monitor is already ridiculous enough - lol

I appreciate your thoughts and comments =)

Even if you see a new monitor in CES 2017, doesn't mean it's going to be available in Q1 of 2017... Sometimes stuff in CES doesn't get released until much later.

Sounds like you've been able to buy and return the monitors without a loss on your end... I would pick up that Samsung monitor you linked and give it a try.

Going off the subject a bit, but something I've wondered about.

If you stick two of those monitors together (which in my opinion would be awesome), but that's essentially the resolution of 3 monitors.  How does NVidia treat that in regards to surround?

+1 and that is just a few days for now. Might be worthwhile just to wait and see if any new monitors appear.

They ALL suck. Seriously. Its a freaking QC lottery now a days and you must play if willing to get a good one. Now that CES is here. Wait. See what they announce. HDR should be a BIG thing with new monitors this year. HDR is the real deal. Its not all hype. Seeing 4k oled HDR. Jaw dropping. Better have drool cups ready in hand. Even LED still looks great with HDR. And this year. Its only going to get better!  The second a 2k/4k HDR G-Sync monitor comes out. Its mine. Hoping Volta is a true 4k max settings 60+fps card. But that is another discussion.

What you think about LG-34UC98-W 3440x1440 34" IPS Curved

    http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-34UC98-W-ultrawide-monitor

Best monitor at the moment I think si LG 38UC99-W - 38" 3840x2160 and need serious hardware for nice gaming and he cost more than 1300$... If you wait few months he will be available for 1000$ but will not be best.
Problem is because they support only Free Sync and when new Vega show up if offer great performance for 4K some percent of people will decide to go on Radeon, because Samsung, LG, Dell looks like pay less attention on G-Sync.
They are expensive anyway and G-Sync only could increase their price.

    This LG is killer really.
Sorry... I didn't saw you bought TV...  That's my idea as well.
I want to move gaming in living room in 2017, to prepare nice screen, sound, bluetooth mouse and keyboard and to play games like man.

I like ultra wides, but they are not where I want them to be yet.

At the moment, I feel like 4k is finally the sweet spot.  This VA panel has vivid beautiful and accurate colors - 4k HDR -

I bought a Vizio 4k screen around 1 year ago and this one is leaps and bounds better.  Much faster response time and the colors look way better.

AND OH MY GOSH - WITH VA - Once you've gone deep blacks you never go back! :D

    - WOW - my avatar (picture - tower of babel) looks rocking with VA!!! :D

for 1000 why not go with Triple 2560x1440 screens, I'd say go with triple 4k screens but I don't think a card setup exists to make that playable
