Hi guys, first post on here and can't really find a suitable place to post this weird issue. Recently done some re-building on my pc so like using precision x to keep my eye on cpu temps etc.
I'm using a 1080 oc, I5 4690k and an Acer xb271hu (144hz, gsync etc) monitor.
Before this recent Origin update I was quite happily playing various Battlefield/Battlefront games at way over 100fps (showing in precision x) now the frame rates will keep dropping down to 15/16fps. I don't think they're really dropping that low it's just what precision x is showing me. Seemed to work fine before Origin update. Anybody else had this issue??
Is the osd something to be avoided, like riva tuner that always seemed to cause crashes and stuff with me.
Temps are fine with both gpu and cpu under 70c.
Any thoughts much appreciated, cheers Adam.

Thanks for the reply, I'll give reinstalling it a go. Do you know of any decent real time monitoring that will show cpu/gpu temps and fps in game??

    Thanks Adam.

    Welcome to the forums...

If PrecX OC isn't working well enough for you, try MSI Afterburner  >>  http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/msi-afterburner-beta-download.html

Don't try & run both at the same time...

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've always used afterburner, which by itself works fine but for the osd you need to use riva tuner (I think) which has always caused me problems and I always ended up uninstalling that part of after burner. This is my first evga card and the precision x oc seems to work much better it's just a bit weird that since Origins recent update I'm getting strange fps readings. Works great in all non Origin games. It's not a real problem but I just get a bit ocd about these things.

Tbh I've a feeling precision x and after burner are actually the same program, with different skins made by the same people?? All the hints/prompts etc are identical.

    Cheers Adam.

I have the same monitor that you do. If you put it into game mode, it will display the fps.  You can also use Fraps, works quite well.  The game mode displaying FPS does not work in Microsoft store games like Forza 6 Apex and Gears of War Ultimate edition, they do, however, have built in fps counters that you can enable in the options.  Fraps also does not work for Microsoft store games but works with just about everything else.

Lol how are you finding the monitor. I went through 3 of the Asus version, all returned to Amazon. Bought the Acer from a different vendor which I couldn't return it to. Just got it back from Acer service centre yesterday after being in 3 times and eventually have a monitor free from dead pixels and has minimal blb. I was real exited about getting one of these displays and the whole thing just turned into a stressful nightmare :-( Both use the same panel and suffer from dead pixels but the blb is definitely worse with the Asus. Something to do with the way the bezel presses unevenly round the screen (at least from my examples) the Acer is the best of the 2 from my experience.

I have Nvidia geforce frame counter toggled to one key and precision x oc to another. I like the evga one best cause it shows temps and stuff as well. It was working great till Origin updated!! still use it for my non Origin games. Use the Nvidia one for Origin.

    Thanks Adam.

A new version of Precision X OC came out a day or three ago, version 6.0.6, have you tried that one?

Yeah I installed the 6.0.6 today, still getting the same issue. For some reason in the new version they've removed the ability to control the led lights. My card is the OC vs which isn't rgb but I was still able to turn led's up/down, on/off and various different pulsing options. Now I can't :-(

I notice weird issues with FPS monitoring in some games. I noticed in Overwatch Precision X would cycle between 14fps and the actual FPS, basically like its getting stuck. Even the HW portion of Precision would display the variances.
