So..being the nerd I am, I wanted to run this new 1080 FTW through its paces like everyone else.

I've done DDU, I've reinstalled 3dMark..  I just can't win.

No matter what I do, I get the attached error.

It worked fine with my 760 and my 960..     I've tried it with stock clocks and OC'd clocks.. Same result.

Has anyone else run into this?

Yeah, that's an unstable clock throwing things off.

Remove any CPU and RAM OC (ddr3 srock speed is 1600, ddr4 is 2133 or 2400 depending on CPU model).

Do step 2, and then 3 and 4 if 2 fails to help. If it works in debug mode or by underclocking, you've got a bad card and it is time to RMA.

Try running without any monitoring software if you have any running at the same time.  I had errors when trying to get results from TimeSpy with realtemp or CPUID open, I don't recall which.

CPU and RAM aren't overclocked.   I'll underclock and see.  I can run the other stress test, just not TimeSpy.

The only other software running at the same time is Precision X but I can disable it to see.

Well.. Underclocked a little and as low as it'd go, same result.

Test it in another PC if you can to verify that the problem is the card.

If you can't test it, RMA it.

Any other issues running the card??  Underclocking and still not benching is a red flag for me.....had similar issues with mine and had to RMA

I was able to run Firestrike with no issues, its literally only TimeSpy.

Coil whine is pretty bad, I can hear it over the 7 other fans in my case but the card performs..   I was messing with it more yesterday, I was able to get +75 on the chip and +495 on the ram..  Played Overwatch(everything maxed out @ 1440P) for a few hours and Diablo 3.

Well I got it to work.
Apparently all my settings in Nvidia Control Panel were reset.. Not sure how since I just re-set them up after I did DDU and latest driver.

Well the Power Management Mode was set to Optimal Power not Prefer Maximum Performance.  PhysX Configuration was also set to my CPU not my GTX 1080.
