That is completely normal. It's like that to prevent tampering.

At Ebay it's like "tampering with the evidence". ;)

That's good to know! My google-fu basically only shows up this thread and this being mentioned in passing in another. I just got the GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 yesterday and installed it. But now those crossed out serial number stickers (box and card) have been gnawing on my mind a bit. Also as there's a noise (not loud or anything too alarming) somewhere from the PC when the card is under load (not overclocked yet), not sure if it's the PSU or the card or maybe a fan, but it's not coil whine afaik (too low pitch). In addition one of the three RGB sensor LED's on the front is slightly misaligned it seems, leaking light from behind it. Making it harder to see what color it is - All minor things I guess but it made me second guess those crossed out stickers. I considered contacting customer support today about this, but I don't think I will now. Yet another thing I was worried about was if I this would void any point in getting one of the extended warranties. But as said I guess I'm good. I just wanted to mention this as I found the crossing out a bit odd (I didn't quite get the Ebay "tampering with the evidence" remark btw).

Completely normal. My 1080Ti blacks have the same crossed out stickers and they came right from EVGA step-up.

If by “crossed out” you mean the full razor cut X; that is to make it harder to peal off the sticker. The sticker will tear on the average person that is attempting to remove the sticker and rebrand it (or other nefarious acts). My auto tags used have these cuts and made it very hard for someone to try and pull the year/month sticker off. They cut cost and eliminate that with their newer printer style machines.
