Okay i just purchased everything for my pc and i have booted it up, with the help of my friends GPU it posted to a screen and has windows installed. Now that i'm home with my computer without a GPU i was alittle curious if the USB type c port could be utilized as a display port for the time being till i purchase my GPU in the upcoming months. I'm hoping to get a pascal GPU. Has anyone had any luck using the USB-c port on the Evga x99 micro 2 to display? i Know if this is going to be at all possible i will at least need some special adapters and a usb type-c cord

For an X99 motherboard you'll need a dedicated GPU. While you're waiting for the next generation GPU maybe you can find a good used GPU to bide your time.

+1 X99 needs dedicated GPU, the 2011-V3 CPU does not have integrated graphics.

Also, high end Pascal most likely won't be here till about July/Aug./Sept. and the Ti version before or around the holidays, if they were to keep a similiar time table of past lines.

Getting Pascal at only MSRP --- retail --- will be quite the challenge at release.

It's difficult to say what NVIDIA will do but I'll make a wild guess and say that 'maybe' an announcement is forthcoming at the NVIDIA GPU Tech conference 4-7 April.

Yes, there is an announcement coming up next month and I should have also stated that because AMD is finally coming out with a new line of GPUs, that might change everything.
