To my knowledge, EVGA doesn't sell a PSU that has a reputation for being "bad", so you're pretty safe there..The question would be is how many watts you would need and how many and what types of connectors you would need for your mobo, graphics card, drives, perhiperals, whatever..You can use this PSU calculator to get a good idea of the watts required to power your system as a whole..A PSU with an ECO Mode would be nice because the fan won't turn on until a predetermined temperature is reached, thereby reducing fan noise (which can be annoying) under low/no load conditions..I would also get one that's with about 20 percent more watts than is estimated, which would result in lower PSU temperature because it wouldn't be running at/near full load sometimes, thereby ruducing fan noise also.

Tip: If you use the EVGA Power Meter to calculate your system wattage requirement/recommended PSU, you'll receive a Coupon Code (good only in the US shopping cart) in email for an automatic 20% off the price just simply for using it (unless it was a limited time offer, I don't know, but I got a discount last month just for using it).

    Why you should not buy an EVGA 400 / 430 / 500 / 600 / 500B / 600B
