I have moved forward from trying to take my DG-87 apart to finishing up my build.  I have a EVGA 1080 and it appears to not be seated all the way down or such as I get a D6 no VGA error in bios if I have it installed in my Z270 Classified board.  I put in my old 750ti card much much much shorter, of course...lol...and everything is fine.  The things I have thought of is the 1080 end sits on top of the SATA ports, which should not be an issue, for the most part.  Is there something else that could be getting the way of the card being seated properly?  The length, I believe, is 10.5" and all of the 1080s I have seen are generally between 10.5" and 11".  Any idea of what I might be missing?

Thanks for all of everyone's help :)

Are you running bios 1.02 or higher?

Bios 1.02 has the following fixes...
    • Improved compatibility with PCI-E devices

Did you try running the 1080 in a different pci-e slot?

Yes, once I put in my 750ti, I updated bios to 1.05.  Tried my 1080 in all 3 slots, no dice.

That is my next step.  I am typing this from my production system and in the middle of a project.  I will try it later this afternoon :)

    Thanks for your help!

I finally got a chance to try my 1080 in my current system.  It starts booting up, then when it gets to the Windows 10 login, it loses signal.  This is 1 step further than I got with my new build.

I tried DVI and HDMI.  I do not have DP.  I also tried both my 32" TV and my 21" monitor.

Take the card to a local computer shop or a friends house to test the dp outputs. If the same occurs with the dp outputs you'll need to rma the card.

Completely strange and unique thing today.  I woke up this morning put my 1080 in the same slot as I have maybe 6-10 times before, computer booted up fine, installed updated drivers and board software.  Card is working great :)

Thanks for all of your assistance!
