System (Have components but not built yet): Asus Z97-A MOBO, GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0 2GB, i7-4790K CPU, Win7

System will be used for 4K video editing, no games.  Can I run two different monitors with different resolutions?  One would be 4K @ 60Hz via a DisplayPort connector and the other would be an HP 2009m (1600x900) with VGA/DVI-D connectors.  Would there be any special setup in the GPU software or Windows, or would the capabilities of the monitors be automatically recognized?  Thanks.

Yes you can, you just have to make sure the resolution you're trying to run is supported.

I run 2560x1440 as my main, and a 1920x1080 as my secondary. One thing to keep in mind you have to run extended displays if you didn't already know and the desktop background will be more zoomed in on the smaller display.

Don't know what "extended displays" means.

Appreciate it. I was sleeping when he posted.
One thing I recommend is having at least similar size monitors though. I prefer the frameless ones as it looks better.

No can do.  The HP 1600x900 is 20" with 1" borders and the 4K UDF will be 27"-28" with 1cm borders.  I'm going to see what it would look like with the HP and Acer 23" 1080p monitors I already have on an existing Win7 system.  If I don't like how things sit and work then I'll just go with the larger Crossover by itself for the 4K system.

Ah, yea. I run the 27" frameless LED IPS asus monitor and my secondary is a 25" HP 1080p.

Be careful about dealing with those Korean companies. I just had my experience dealing with one company who sold QNIX monitors. They sold it to me as "pixel perfect". The listing says they double and triple check monitors, which I think is BS because that package had never been touched. I think they're selling them as pixel perfect in order to charge more then what they do is when you mention this to them they offer you a partial refund.

So I paid $260 for a QNIX pixel perfect 2560x1440 monitor. I got it and ran a dead pixel test. I noticed I had one dead pixel in the bottom rightish and I emailed them and they offered me $60 partial refund. I said I was only interested in a perfect pixel monitor, they came back offereing a $70 refund. I said no thank you and then they offered a $90 refund. Again I said no thank you and at that point I just had already ordered a diff monitor.

So basically around 4-5am(Central) they would respond to my email and forunately I'm up because I work nights so I would reply back immediately, yet I wouldn't receive an email until 24 hours later. So the whole week went a waste with 1 email a day and with them offering me partial refunds when I kept saying I only wanted to exchange the monitor. I think like on day 4 when I realized the communication was crap I ordered my other monitor, so instead of swapping I just asked for a refund. Then I didn't hear anything for two days so I had to involve newegg, then the process went through quicker. Anyways it took me nearly two weeks to get a return label. Then it took a week for them to actually get the monitor back(Wednesday) which was Tuesday night for me. I didn't hear anything from them Wednesday all day. Nor did I on Thursday, so around noon I had to again involve newegg. I honestly wouldn't ever get another monitor from them.
