Hello

I've overclocked my new 1 month old GTX 960 too much and I think I damaged it but not sure!
I had no problem for the whole month, but now I'm facing these new issues and I could not fix it even after installing the gpu in different PC.

=======
- Shadows are shown low quality until i get near them and wait few seconds and then they slowly turn into high quality shadows.
- Enemies and monsters trees showing in close distance only.

+No FPS drop or any other problems
=======

I've tested the GTX 960 in the following game :-

FFXIV
Witcher 3

I've tested the GTX 960 in two PCs:-

1st :-

i7-2600
8gb ram
power supply 500w

2nd:-

a 2 days new PC

i7-4770
16gb ram
power supply 750w

Result:-

issue occurs in both PCs, so it is 100% gpu problem!

Help! is there anything I can do ? reset factory settings or something ? hidden switch or button on the GTX 960 ? or is it 100% faulty and no solution ? any solution at all please ?

if there is no hope, which gpu do you recommend me to get?

This sounds like a game setting issue rather than a gpu issue.

    Here are the pictures re-uploaded

    68 Errors

    Low Freq ?

GTX 960 low Frequency 540 MHz

Note: in EVGA precisionX 16 it shows normal (1445 MHz)

GTX 550 normal Frequency 981 MHz

So i did more testing on Witcher 3 again, Shadows appear normal/high quality when they're closer than 5 feet from character, when I get further it goes stupid low quality.

just to repeat I have those two issues only
    - Shadows are shown low quality until i get near them and wait few seconds and then they slowly turn into high quality shadows.
    - Enemies and monsters trees showing in close distance only.

there's no drop in fps or any other issues

Looks like the software is reading the frequency incorrectly when running your 960. Is your 3dmark firestrike score within normal range?

tried my old GPU and I had the same issue, when I put my old gpu to my old PC it got infected with the same problem!

Looks like I have a whole big problem, something infecting every component in the hardware

Experts from all big companies really need to look into this matter asap, it infects more and more people, and I'm going insane not being able to fix it
