Hi,

I recently picked up the Supernova G2 850W and there seems to be a white residue of sort above the motherboard and cpu1 module insert plugs. I don't see it anywhere else on the other ports. Any idea what this is? I'm a bit paranoid because I don't know if this is normal?

I have provided a few pictures
Thanks

Wow! That looks a little scary to me too no being paranoid about it. Unless one of EVGA techs can say differently, that looks like residue from water or moisture.

I'd definitely RMA the PSU, why risk your whole system for $150.

Agreed. The only place a substance like that can come from is the calcium and lime deposits left behind by tap water or rain water as far as I know. Maybe it was there before the unit was assembled but who can say for sure. Why take chances?

Thanks for all your feedback! I went ahead and requested for an RMA. EVGA customer support has been excellent! Let's hope my new one does not have this problem!

Their customer service is really good, isn't it? That's why I never hesitate to recommend an EVGA product to someone. I know they won't be disappointed.

That's nothing... that's probably something similar as dust from plastic connectors.
I wouldn't even notice that, but I understand when someone worry...
