GTX 970 acx 2.0 ftw weird idle?

Ok.. so my gpu was idling at 1215mhz, 60°.

This seemed high but apparently normal, 2 days later it starts idlinh at 135mhz/40°?

I made no changes.. how/why did the idles change?

    The idle changed most likely because you restarted your PC. When the idle was high you must of done something with the card to make it idle high: such as an unstable clock. But when you restarted the PC all the settings went back to default.

    Most likely had an application that was hardware accelerated running in the background on your computer. Restarting your machine most likely closed the program causing your card to idle normally at 135MHz.
