I am a novice seeking help in finding a graphics card for Flight Sim X. I am considering GTX 960. Is this too much GPU?

Well, GTX 960 is a good card and can definitely handle Flight Sim 5. However, this card could be considered as possibly better than what you need for it. If you are concerned about the price, a better alternative for around $110 is the GTX 750ti. This card would obviously do any web surfing, Flight Sim, and games on medium-high at 1920x1080. Likewise, if price is not a concern, the GTX 960 is a better investment because it would be able to play and do anything for the next 3-5 years.

System RequirementsMinimum:- OS: Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or later
- Processor: 2.0 Ghz or higher (single core)
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
- Graphics: DirectX®9 compliant video card or greater, 256 MB video RAM or higher, Shader Model 1.1 or higher (Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required)
- DirectX: Version 9.0c
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Hard Drive: 30 GB available space
- Additional Notes: Broadband internet connection required for multiplayer features
Just about any Graphics Card you buy today is fine. I sometime have issues with this Product and have to set my Display down to 1024x768 and Disable SLI.

Wait, if it's a workstation then how meany watts is your power supply rated for? You may not be able to buy a high performance PSU.

What is the difference between a Computer and Workstation Power Supply? For the most part they are both ATX Power Supplies.

My concern was that prebuilt workstations generally have really low Wattage psu's, but yours is fine. Just get a 600 or 700 series, keep it cheap now and buy a good one in a year or two for your build you mentioned you want to do.
