That would not benefit you in any way.  Your 980 is plenty to crank up the graphics, while computing Physx as well

Sell both the 670 and 780 ti and get yourself a new SSD, case, or both! :D

The best way to know whether you will see performance increases in games using PhysX is to test it yourself with your hardware.  It's going to depend on the game, your game settings, resolution, etc...  This topic has been discussed here many times over the years.  With the right dedicated PhysX card, it's been proven over & over that you'll see a performance increase in FPS in games that use PhysX with a decent card.

I always use a GPU that I was using prior to an upgrade for PhysX.  That's always yielded positive results.  For me it's two fold.  I prefer connecting my 2nd monitor & my TV to the card I dedicate to PhysX keeping just my main monitor connected to my main GPU.

I'll see if I can find one of the long threads where many benchmark comparisons were posted using dedicated PhysX cards.  Off the top of my head, I remember testing a couple Batman games I was playing back then.  The difference I was getting was 30+% increase using a dedicated PhysX card.

Of course if you had asked about pairing a 980 with a 460 or something like that, I'd say the 460 would probably hinder the performance of the 980.

Again, I'll see if I can find one of those threads, but in the meantime, I suggest doing your own test comparisons...

EDIT:  Here's one of many threads that have some good info and comparisons with & without dedicated PhysX cards.  A couple generation older GPU's, but the principle is still the same.  >>  http://forums.evga.com/Gt-640-for-physx-m1663158.aspx

Not worth it
Barely any games actually use physx and those that do don't use it heavily enough for the need of a dedicated physx card
Going by this list there hasn't been a game with physx in it within the last year

I'm going to argue this with everybody. Yes, you get better frame rates while using a dedicated graphics card as PhysX. Period. The results are out there. The benchmarks are out there. The question is if you're willing to put the card in your machine and use it. No, do not go and buy a graphics card for PhysX. That is unnecessary. Bottom line, yes you get better results dedicating that video card with PhysX. I did my own tests with my old 470 while using my 970, and gotten much better results.
Of course, it only works with games that use PhysX. Otherwise, the card just sits there. That would be your "bottleneck"
