Are you talking about coil whine or another noise?

I have the GTX 970 FTW "reference" card (04G-P4-2977-KR) and that is exactly the sound I get under [certain] heavy loads; regardless if fans are spinning or not.

EDIT: Strikeout; apparently doesn't exactly apply like this but point still the same regarding hearing it

Lol I have that too when I start up a game, but most times it goes away after > 30 minutes of gameplay.

Yup that's the same noise I get.. when its under load (fans on) moment fans cut off it stops.  I've got an RMA setup.  I suggest you do the same.  I left mine running heaven 4.0 and played games on it all night and it just seemed to get worse.

Like I said..when the GPU is under idle meaning its not being put under heavy load that sound will happen. RMA the card.
