Hey guys, anyone else have crysis 3 experiencing weird fps drop down to 30 just by turning and moving around? Thought maybe my 780 just wasnt powerful enough to run it on max settings so been testing different settings and finally put everything on low and same issue still persists. I am on 331.85 WHQL.
Issue exists on different places on game and the same locations. For example: I move , then my fps for a second drops to 39 fps and again raise up to 60 fps untill i move again.

Please post your complete system specs as well as PSU model and make. Also let us know if you are using any GPU monitoring software such as EVGA Precision X or MSI afterburner.

I don't think what your experiencing is out of the ordinary. Depending on desktop settings(background paper, screen saver, virus protection background programs etc), programs running and installed etc, getting drops into the 30fps range is probably normal. I originally ran a single GTX 780 myself and Crysis 3 would not always run at or above 60fps........there would be some dips down into the 30-40fps range no question, and that was with a clean install, latest drivers featuring 16gb ram and an i7 4770k........stock clocks all around.

The frame rate is constantly shifting between two different rates - from approximately 60fps to approximately 30fps. This happens every 5-10 seconds. The issue is not affected by actions in the game, or where the camera is pointing. I can stand still in the same spot staring at the scene and see the frame rate jump between the two different rates.

What you're describing is what vsync does. If your GPU can't maintain 60fps, the next lower reduction is down to 30fps. Make sure you don't have vsync enabled in the game itself, and also verify you don't have it enabled in your game profile in the Manage 3D settings section in the NVCPL. Also look at your global settings. Make sure vsync isn't enabled globally.

Not saying this is bad, but it isn't often you see a non Evga GPU owner asking for help in the evga forums....

If you have drops from 60 FPS to 30 FPS with VSync enabled, try enabling/forcing triple buffering from your NVIDIA control panel. That pretty much always helps to prevent such drops.

Do you notice these drops in framerates if FRAPS is NOT running?

litwicki22 This is the problem. look at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd34gHI2d5I
Meaning, just as I said, you're getting the same performance as others with a similar set up. We're not going to fix the game code here, and there isn't a magic fix for it. My solution was to just go with massive overkill with SLI TITANS, and I still get FPS drops into the 60's in FPS. It is, what it is. Over clocking your CPU will help somewhat.

In the video I could not read the FPS at the top left. I have one thing to suggest but it is up to you if you wish to try it. Reduce your overclock to default. Your overall framerates will be lower but see if there is still a major difference or if they are more even.

He's running his CPU at the stock settings according to the other thread he made on this topic. One reason why I suggested some over clocking to increase his frame rates.
