Im planning on building a rig over the next month and I was wondering if the guys here could advise if I've designed it all right.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($275.00 @ PCCaseGear)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($145.00 @ CPL Online)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87E-ITX Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard ($165.00 @ CPL Online)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($119.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($108.00 @ CPL Online)
*EDIT* Storage: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($139.00 @ CPL Online) in RAID 1
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($229.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Case: Corsair 250D Mini ITX Tower Case ($119.00 @ CPL Online)
*EDIT* Power Supply: Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($159.00 @ CPL Online)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro (OEM) (64-bit) (Purchased For $0.00)
Fan Controller: BitFenix Recon (Black) Fan Controller ($39.00 @ CPL Online)
Total: $1636.00

Im planning on using it as a HTPC/Data Storage/Run steam on the TV
Let me know what you think :)

Looking for anything unnecessary or anything that isn't good enough to keep up with the rest of the build.
(Disclaimer: Its my first try at a build (: )

Looks good to me. The harddisk drive will for storage only?

If you want to expand later, you might want to consider bumping up the power supply to 650W if it is within budget.

Just note that the fan controller is 10W per channel. It's fine for a single fan but you probably don't want to run more than one fan per channel.

I don't know if they sell Lamptron products in Australia but take a look at the FC2 or FC8 if you want higher wattage channels:

As its going to be a htpc i wanted it to look a bit more flashy with the touch display and also you can set profiles to be selected via a web browser which (for the less experienced users in my house when watching movies or playing music) will be easier to manage without putting them too low that it overheats.
I was debating the psu upgrade so I will as its only about $20 more for 650 W at the same quality.

One other thing I was debating with myself was whether or not to switch the seagate 4TB HDD to:
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($139.00 @ CPL Online)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($139.00 @ CPL Online)
as the drives perform faster already and then running them in raid 0 to maximise performance.
But is it worth the extra $85 and will I see a Decent performance boost?

*EDIT* Yes the HDD will be for laptop/Tablet backups, Movies, Music and i was hoping steam games

If you're using the drive as storage (backups, movies, etc) I'd go with the single 4TB since speed isn't important. You didn't list any model numbers so I can't exactly say how well they perform in terms of speed.

You never ever want to use RAID 0 for backup or storage. RAID 0 is for fast performance (not storage) but doubles the chance of failure.

Even using a single 4TB, I strongly recommend you have a spare backup if your files are solely on that drive only. 4TB is a lot of data to lose.

Yup, either would work if you use in RAID 1. It depends how much you want to spend (the 3TB is cheaper for storage per dollar). Make sure you test the drives in RAID 1 for a few days before dumping all your files (and removing the original). You can never be too safe.

I dont have an original haha
I'm running on an old laptop that shuts down from overheating and a 1TB pocket external drive which is on its last legs (thus the need to expand and probably my main motivation to get this set up)
    And no steam games installed.

I suppose the 1TB external would be my original then -.-
I'm thinking raid 1 then 3TB should be enough for now and ill expand later if necessary

What I meant is, when you copy the files from the laptop and 1TB over, don't delete the original from them right away.

But everything from the build looks good. Maybe a few others can chime in with suggestions.
    Good luck and have fun.

Thanks very much for your help, I was pretty confident but as Its a first build you can never be too sure.
