In the 1989 film Batman, who created the music soundtracks? Prince created and released the "Batman Soundtrack" intermixed with many sound clips from the actual movie.
Party Man and who could forget
Bat-Dance!
Danny Elfman composed the dark-theme Batman (score) and released it for sale, something rarely done in the 1980s (I still have my original copy). Danny Elfman also went on to do the score to Batman Returns as well (again, original copy next to me). Some fun fact's about Danny Elfman: he was the singing voice of Jack Skellington in Tim Burton's
The Nightman Before Christmans; he produced the
March of the Dead title from the 1992 B-movie classic
Army of Darkness; had several score tracks in all three
Men in Black movies;
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and so many others. You really start to hear that distinctive sound from his scores. That dark, dwelling, and sometimes suspenseful tone he sets in every track. I personally like the score to the 1989 film
Batman over most others, where I was introduced to Elfman's work.
There was an answer or two of Elliot Goldenthal as the composer. Actually, he did the next two films':
Batman Forever and
Batman & Robin; but, not the cult masterpiece of
Batman (1989). What does EVGA stand for (the definition)? Extended Video Graphics Array
There was one colorful answer from the old old EVGA Forums thread. Kudos for finding that one! "Extremely Vicious Graphical Ants"
How many onboard GPU processors did the 3dfx Voodoo 5 6000 have? The answer:
four (4) baby! How many people remember 3dfx? I do! My kick-ass dual P-II 450 Mhz machine rocking two 3dfx Voodoo 2s in SLI!
I invite anyone to learn more about 3dfx to Google them. No, Nvidia did not acquire 3dfx for their SLI technology - they are two completely different approaches. They acquired 3dfx for the distribution channels as Nvidia was only a producer of chips at the time. At least, that's how I remember it playing out.
That 3dfx Voodoo 5 6000 was never released - and boy did we want it! I upgraded to the 3dfx Voodoo 3 3500 (external dongle and video recording and all), and then to the dual gpu 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500.
Our very own EVGA member Nateman_doo even
created a custom waterblock for his 3dfx Voodoo 5 6000.
How much debt do you owe the United States Treasury as an American citizen? The answer would seem to be almost
$54,000 (and was what I was looking for). That figure is based on 300+ million Americans. In contrast though, the numbers are actually quite higher because the vast majority of American's pay a higher percentage of taxes (e.g. "middle class"). Then you have those in poverty and retired that pay next to none. Then subtract children and those that do not qualify to pay taxes and the number is actually closer to $220,000 per person if you do the math. I won't get into how much interest is paid on a monthly basis. I'll leave that up to the reader. Hint: any child born today automatically owes the US government a debt 18 years before they start working - we've been borrowing on the unborn for a long time. This is the trouble Japan is going through right now, with Europe not too far behind: not enough children were born 20 years ago nor entered the workforce to pay for what has been borrowed on those expectations 20 years ago when it was borrowed. The US is just a bit further behind those time tables.
There was 1 cute answer of "$0.00 Dollar, cause I don't live in the US." I invite those that live out of the US to look-up your own national debt, and break down the numbers as well.
Who is the parent company of Ting (the mobile provider)? Tucows! Oh yes, the file sharing and download services from the 90s! Tucows!
I've personally ended my 13 year long service with Sprint. I was promoted to their "White Glove" premium discounts, then Premium member, then Certified Member, etc over the years and got what I thought were huge discounts. Thing is, I've been downloading and classifying my transactions electronically since the late 90s and I am shocked to see how much Sprint made off of me. I could have a house.
Start to do the math: figure how much you'd spend over two years at your current cell prices. That's 24 months X your monthly bill. For us, that was $190 x 24 because we had 2 lines, long distance "fees", insurance "fees", premium data "fees", and so on. Sprint recently discontinued all discount programs in 2011 and 2012 and that's when I started to look elsewhere. I was looking at $4,600 bill over every two years.
Switched to Ting, brought over our existing Sprint phones (well, bought one Galaxy S4 out right for $600). Sounds expensive to buy a phone at full price? Well not when our first bill was $27. Yep, $27. Our next one, with a 2 hour call to Japan, cost $41. Jaw-dropped. Recently, I got my first "referral" and received a credit of $50. That nearly pays two months of free cell service now.
Join the Ting party (link in sig) and give the finder to your carrier. Don't let them scare you with "Early Termination Fees" and other non-sense. Just pay the ETFs out right (mine were about $350), buy a phone out right ($500) and do the math: after 3 months, you'll already make up the cost of the EFT and phones in the savings. After my "$1,000 investment", I'll still save close to $2,000 after two years. Yep, that's $2,000 extra in my pocket by paying the ETF and buying an expensive phone out-right.
Get away from those guys at all costs...
Who is Walter White? The most creative answer says it the best: "
Bryan Cranston, Heisenberg, Meth Kingpin (My dream job?)"
There were a lot of other notable answers as well (no spoilers mentioned):
A fictional chemist on AMC TV show Breaking Bad, played by Bryan Cranston. The best Meth cook ever (that baby blue). Chef Extraordinaire/Cook/Bryan Cranston Walter White is Heisenberg! He is an chemistry teacher that has cancer and now tryin to leave something for his family, So he decides to cook some meth and deal with it. Walter Hartwell "Walt" White Sr or Heisenberg from Breaking Bad. "Say My Name" Continuing on the
Breaking Bad theme in the previous question, the single answer i was looking for was "
Heisenberg". But I knew that would be a little far fetched for those that hasn't seen
Breaking Bad. One answer even listed that particular bad-ass episode (oh yes, one of my favorites too). So my name was acceptable as well,
Eric Duncan. I hid it in the header of that same trivia page, so all you had to do was scroll up.
What I didn't know was that Destiny's Child apparently had a title named
Say My Name. LOL There were 4 answers using that one.
Summary All in all this was fun. Thanks guys!
