So sometimes when I try to turn on my computer the video card does a weird thing. It seems to get half power. The light on the top of the card will come on but not on the side. Other times it turns on and runs until I shut it down, but there's a hitch. the lights seem to come on one after the other, top then side. Also, my keyboard and mouse experience a power pulse. On, off, and on again. When it runs however, it seems to run great. Ive used it for hours at a time without a single hiccup, if it turns on when I would like it too. Any of you kind folk experience anything like this in your travels? Thanks, A PC NOOB system for those curious few. CPU: i5-8600k @3.60ghz MOBO: ASRock z370 pro4 RAM: 16g of DDR4 GPU: EVGA Geforce 1080ti FTW3 PS: EVGA Supernova 850w G2 and a couple hard drives.

Test an alternative power supply, the is usually a symptom of a faulty Pwr_Ok signal where one of the 3 voltages are not actually within tolerances.

Bought and tried a new evga 850w g2 and it booted right up. You were right about the psu causing the issue.
Thanks very much!

Uh... funny enough I’m having the same issue, top of the card lights up instantly but side lettering on 1080ti ftw3 takes a bit to start up usually by the time I boot into windows it’s on. My previous ftw3 didn’t do this though on the same psu. I actually thought this wasn’t an issue.. Edit: solved it by changing the settings in precision Voltages seem fine on psu
