Hello,

So I just got my NZXT Switch 810 and the Kraken X60 Water Cooler.

However, I cant install the software that came with it.

It says that the installation has been interrupted thus it''s not installed.

Things I tried:

-Running in SafeMode and installing it there.
-Checking the USB cable in other USP port.
-Installing .NET Framwork.
-Running it as admin.
-Checked the cables.

I am running windows 8 Pro 64BIT.

I plugged the fans into the two plugs that came from the CPU cooler and the sata power to the sata power coming from it.

I also plugged in the FAN plug into CPU Fan and the USP into one of my motherboards USP 2.0.

If I unplug the USB, the fans and pump run EXTREMELY HIGH AND UNBEARABLE.

If I plug the USB cable(Which I should) I have the White LED on it and the fans and pump ON low(Low noise).

What do I do ?

I had another PC with windows 8 and tried installin Kraken Software and it did install !

I mean installation should NOT be a problem with cables.

What do I do ?
Please help.

THANKS!

Nevermind, I think I will go for the Corsair H100i.

Hope I made the right decision.

    Hi ,

Can you set fan speed via the MOBO?

Remember we talked about the H100i?  I had no issues until one day the softare, also via USB header, stopped working.  All my fans went to MAX!!!

I removed the software and installed the pump to OPT FAN on motherboard and ran that full speed all the time.  The two fans I plugged into CPU FAN and CPU OPT FAN on the MAXIMUS V EXTREME. No issues after that, though not working as it should (no software).

Personally, I believe the software is not as good as manual settings.  So, if you can try that route.  I advise against the H100i  --  The Kraken is what I would use now -- Reviews say it is better (some).

If you can control via MOBO you are 'safer' in my opinion anyway.  You can also set up a fan profile as well via the MOBO.  I forget what Gigabyte calls it, I have since moved from them to EVGA MOBO's to ASUS.

Let me know what happens with this...  The Kraken is on my 'buy' list...  Now I am wondering!!!

I just called my friend who has the Kraken --  HE had the same issue and fixed it via an install of WIN 7!!!!

IT is supposed to support WIN 8 but I bet there is a compatibility issue.

Have you tried installing the software from the NZXT site rather than what comes with the product?  Corsair does not provide an install disk.  Does the Kraken come with one?  Maybe the disc is outdated?

Yeh I installed Windows 7 too 2 days ago and it solved the problem.

Sorry I forgot to mention it in here that I solved it by installing Windows 7.

After that, the cooler is pretty amazing and silent.

PS:I tried every possible way to installing this thing in Windows 8 Pro 64BIT and nothing.
I even restarted the windows through its feature of restarting it to its factory state and nothing.
After that I was like no more Windows 8 (because this is not the only program that have problems running in Windows 8) and installed Windows 7.
    It installed perfectly.

Also note, to monitor the fan speed through software, YOU WILL NEED to plug one of the radiator fans to the (4PIN) header coming from the Kraken as there are 4 FAN headers and ONLY ONE have 4 pin that is used to monitor the fan speed through it.

Thanks for the help man really appreciated.
