I have noticed strange behavior with system sleep on an EVGA Z77 with an EVGA Geforce 680 and Windows 8.  When I try to wake the PC up from sleep, the fans spin up and then 15 seconds later the machine power cycles and begins startup.  It would be great if it could just startup from sleep within a few seconds like my old evga board did.  There are power settings in the BIOS but I haven't tried tweaking them yet.

Sleep is kind of buggy. It always has been.

Certain hardware will exhibit certain weird behavior (like what is happening with your system) when using sleep, and there is generally no setting or modification to resolve it.

I have used Sleep and hibernate for many years on many different mobo without problems.  You may need to play with the Power Management settings.  ACPI [enable] *****
    APCI ACPI SCI IRQ [Enable]****

Well that's encouraging Ken, I believe an eVGA motherboard and graphics card combo should support this natively.  I'll post on whether or not tweaking the bios is successful.

Resetting motherboard options to default has fixed the issue.  I'll have to go back and test what settings may have caused sleep to fail.  I had set my ram timings and disabled some stuff I was not using like sata ports and onboard audio.

Ok, so I am trying to figure this out too. I haven't changed much, what should I be changing to fix this sleep issue?

Nothing has worked for me. Been asking for a fix since 1.07 or so.
