E-LEET Tuning Utility displays inaccurate temperature values.

I noticed that this program shows higher temps than Core Temp 1.0 RC6, along with other programs.

In fact, E-LEET made me tear my water cooling system apart and redo, as the CPU temps are showing too high.

Any thoughts...

What is the Tj Max of Eleet set to?  The problem is that you have no way of setting the Tj Max in Eleet and have no way of knowing what the Tj Max of Eleet is and therefore you have no way of knowing if the reading is accurate.  ;)

The Tj Max for your CPU should be 100c which means that if your CPU reaches 100c, the CPU should throttling down or shutting off.  Current CPU temperature is extrapolated via the DTS sensor for each core which simply reports how far it is from Tj Max.

I assume that EVGA decided to pick a high default Tj Max setting in order to error on the side of caution.  Perhaps EVGA decided that they should consider 110c the Tj Max so that the current temperature indicated always appears to be 10c hotter than actual current temperature in order to encourage people to be cautious.  This is the most logical explanation I can think of other than pure ignorance on the part of the people who made the program for EVGA.

I noticed this change in E-LEET awhile ago.  As you can see, my CPU is 11 degrees, where the Cores are "incorrectly" displaying the temps.

"CPU Temp" and "Core Temp" will always be different.  EDIT: Core temperature will usually be higher than CPU case temperature.  CPU temperature is the temperature of the CPU package while core temperature is the extrapolated core temperature of each CPU core based on the DTS sensor report of how far it is from Tj Max versus advertised Tj Max known for that particular model of CPU.  Seeing the CPU temperature at 11c versus the CPU core temperature at 30c is not necessarily a mistake assuming that you are currently in a cold room.

More than likely, the CPU Temperature is more incorrect than the Core Temperature in your screenshot.

I think EVGA has done something with this program in the past 6 - 8 months.  My core temps were always lower.

The problem is that you don't have control over the Tj Max setting and can't view its current setting.
