If running EVGA Precision X or MSI Afterburner uninstall them from your computer completely, when asked to save profiles select "NO" then reboot your computer and perform a clean installation of video drivers.
HOW TO: Perform a clean installation of video drivers. #1 Download & save the latest driver from
HERE to your desktop.
#2 Open control panel and type "change device installation settings" (without quotes) into where it says "search control panel" (at the top right hand corner of the control panel window), under devices and printers select "change device installation settings", change settings to "No, let me choose what to do" and "Never install driver software from windows update", Save Changes and Exit. (Sometimes your old video driver will try to reinstall itself after rebooting, this fixes that issue.)
#3 Uninstall the following entries from the add/remove programs list in this order... NVIDIA PhysX Driver, NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller Driver, NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver, NVIDIA GeForce Experience, NVIDIA HD Audio Driver, NVIDIA Graphics Driver. (You may be asked to reboot several times during the removal process, so reboot when asked, then continue removing all remaining entries until all entries have been completely removed from the add/remove programs list. On your last reboot when logging into windows you will notice windows will install "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" this lets you know that everything has been successfully removed and you can now start to install the latest graphics driver from NVIDIA.)
#4 Run the downloaded driver on your desktop and select Custom (Advanced) Install. Deselect the following if you are not using them... 3D Vision Controller Driver, 3D Vision Driver, HD Audio Driver, NVIDIA GeForce Experience. (Only things you should have selected are the Graphics Driver & PhysX System Software.) Check mark "Perform a clean installation" then click next to being the installation. Restart when prompted.
#5 Repeat step #2 but change the settings back to "Yes, do this automatically", Save changes and exit. Done.
#6 Do not re-install EVGA Precision X or MSI Afterburner yet. Play BF3 without them first.
If the issue seems to be fixed you can try re-installing EVGA Precision X without the rivatuner statistics server software to see if your issue comes back. If re-installing MSI Afterburner do not enable the OSD function as it's known to cause issues.
