So i got round to installing my gts 250 into my motherboard for physx with a gtx 560 running the display, however i want my gtx 560 to run the main display and the 250 for phys x but i cant find any way of telling my computer to use the gtx 560 as the main gpu.it seems if i plug the display port into the 560 and restart the pc nothing happens and if i go onto nvidea control panel i can't find a way of swapping it. the motherboard is an MSI z77a-g45

As far as I know, it's not possible to do it that way.
    Why the odd configuration?

Case - Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X
    Mobo - EVGA X570 FTW
    CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
    RAM - 32GB Trident Z Royal 3600MHz 14-14-14-34

well my gtx 560 is heavilly overclocked and so with the gts 250 below it i feel it would just overheat, and i think the performance difference wouldnt be noticable if i had to put the 560 back to standard clocks as the 250 is an old card. ive removed the 250 now

I agree with this not a good idea, I use to run a GTX 470 with a GTX 460 for dedicated PhysX and the 460 made the 470 go over 100c on load cause of the extra heat below it.

The 470 on its own ran between 75 - 80c

    Gaming Rig: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x @ 4.25Ghz - Asrock B450 Pro 4 - 16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3000 - 240GB SSD (OS), 1TB ADATA SU800 SSD and 2TB ADATA SX8200 Pro M2 NVME (Games) - 8GB RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra - Sound Blaster Audigy 5 RX - EVGA Supernova 750w G2 - Antec 302 - 24" Asus VG248QE
