Hi guys,

I have the monitor (S27A750D) and graphic card (GTX 680) and it's connected with DVI.

I don't know what to do therefore I leave my problem to the experts.

Problem:

Random screen tearing + dead pixels walking around in a vertical line on the center of the monitor

Proof that I'm not crazy:

watch in 1080p full screen please (My brother helped with the arrows in order to better show the problem) I know it's far from perfect but still shows the issue.

What I've already tried but didn't work:

- Installed the BETA drivers (supposedly they solve the displayport issue so I gave it a shot).
- Changed the DVI cable from DVI-I port to DVI-D port
- My games settings and the monitor remain unchanged since my last graphic card (ATI 6970) and this problem never happened.
- Changed to 100hz / 60hz but the problem eventually appears again

Is this a drivers problem? Statistically speaking I think it's impossible to have a problem in both DVI connectors...

if you can screen shot the dead pixels/artifacts (ctrl + print screen) its the gpu.  do a quick print screen and paste into Paint. let me know happens,

Its a bit hard to tell from video, but can you try with VSync enabled? To confirm that it is set make sure your FPS are capped to your monitors refresh rate.

    vsync is enabled

What is your monitors refresh rate? Your FPS looked like VSync was not enabled.

Try also enabling VSync from NVIDIA control panel.

The monitor refresh rate is 120hz. Just enabled VSync from the control panel let's see how it goes.

ok so it looks to be more constant with 120hz now that I also enabled vsync from the nvidia control panel.

The problem I explained on the first post is random (or at least I still didn't find any pattern) and I strongly believe it will happen again. You guys think I should buy a displayport cable and try to connect my card using that method?

I've done some tests in furemark and it's a GPU problem. I get a lot of artifacts... I need to replace it :(

It's my first Nvidia plus first EVGA graphics card... quite an impression

I changed the graphics card but I'm still having the problem therefore I'm guessing this must be an incompatibility with my motherboard? ASUS p7p55d evo

Have you considered that there is a problem with your monitor?

Hmm, that video - it is hard to see the problem in it. Is there a particular application where you are experiencing the problem with? What happens when your VGA card is idle?

Hmm, that video - it is hard to see the problem in it. I use exactly the same monitor and GTX 680. Is there a particular application where you are experiencing the problem with? I would do some testing on mine PC if that would help you. Please, let me know

Hi Presy, Thanks. I usually play World of Warcraft and the problem simply starts but it can also start when I'm on the desktop without doing anything.

I installed furmark and from the "burn in test" I see some artifacts in the upper edges of the fur circle can you test to see if you're also getting this? small white artifacts.

About my monitor... I was using ATI 6970 graphics card with zero problems. This only appeared after I connected my 680 so I'm staying with the monitor out of the equation.

I'm currently connected trough DVI with 120hz

Sorry I didn't explained myself correctly. I went to the store and replaced the graphics card for a new one (same model - GTX 680) since I was under the impression my first 680 was faulty.

Can you list complete specs on your PC?
I am no expert, but maybe that info will be able to help narrow down any potentital issues.
