Hey guys,
I was hoping I wouldn't need to upgrade my graphics card until after the 700 series cards were released and I could build a new rig, but it looks like my 295 HC died on me for the 4th time and it's finally out of warranty..
Anyhow, I was looking to get an EVGA 670 4GB FTW (
04G-P4-3673-KR) card to hold me over until I plan to upgrade everything. The problem is it's been a while since I've done my research on blocks and I was planning to go with the EK copper/acetal block. However, looking at their waterblock configuration page it seems that they recommend the 680 block and backplate for this card.
I noticed a similar post regarding a 670 4GB SC card that was able to use the EK 670 block and backplate without any problems (
here). I would rather buy these if they'll work simply because they're mostly in stock at the US retailers and slightly cheaper than the 680 alternative.
Anyone have recommendations or success stories regarding this? Advice is much appreciated!
