We'll be updating some of the Steam servers Monday February 6th, 2011 around 17:00 PST (GMT-8). Chat, game lobbies, and the community web site will be affected. Content downloads and game play should not be affected. Downtime is expected to be short.

anyone having a problem with it today, i can't play anything, cant use steams main website, and can't connect to the key server, so i can't play a single game i own. Social is down, everything is done, (Language edited out) happened here, i got no update steam would be offline today, this is getting really old, can't they you know send the keys to my local machine so i can play my games, what gives, I shouldn't be getting this kind of crap out of them. Do I now have to go download cracks to play my own games because steam is broken

Yeah, it looks like it is completely down... Valve better start making things more secure and stable... people are only going to put up with this for so long until they start going elsewhere. Everything is down today... Usually, Valve does not take everything down like this... makes me wonder if it is another security breach...

if this keeps up im going to start talking to a lawyer, there is 3200 dollars worth of games on my account in current values, this amounts to theft on valves part, they need to fix this or they need to store keys locally, because now to play any of my games i get to crack them today go valve you sorry excuses for pig poop

thats it im going to the sites we all know about, and fixing this issue on my own, if steam can't secure there system ill bypass them my self, all i want to do is shoot at nazi's

everyone call 4235 889 9642 press 0 to get valves voicemail and leave a message press # after your message and have the message set as high priority, flood there voicemail with complaints send them a clear message

I can't play any SP games can't conntact key server. I did email this to gabe lets see how he responds
This is a steam user who is finding more and more I can't access my games because steam services keep going down, if your company can't allow the users of steam to play our games, will you consider refunding every single user of steam for there purchases or sending out physical media for the games we currently own that does not require steam. I'm looking into having to download no-cd and no steam cracks for sevral of my games just so i can play them. When i started using steam it was stable you didn't have these kinds of problems, now if i could i would stick to physical media only but sadly most games released now also require steam to play anyway. Please fix this issue, as the users of steam are getting quite irritated by the lack of care or concern from valve on this matter.
seriously i just want to play company of Hereos and shoot at nazi's :(

Read their TOS clearly, you won't get anywhere by using a lawyer except Steam laughing in your face and you're out money.

this would be why I avoid steam like the plague. good thing i have no interest in playing the 3 games i have that force you to use it.

they'd have to prove its legally binding now wouldn't they, also what about physical media i own, the subscriber agreement isnt printed on the outside of the game and you can't return an open game, that one would be fun for any company to get out of, a contact is not legally binding if your required to purchase the item to use the item at least here in the States
