So im going to buy a new video card and i've been reading reviews and browsing forums to make the right choice and i still can't find the answer, should i buy 2 GTX 570 SC and SLI em or just get a single GTX 590? my resolution will be 1920 x 1080 and i wanna be able to get the best performance at my resolution.

What are your system specs?

With a single monitor at that resolution, a 580 would be fine.
Of course a dual GPU setup would yield higher FPS in games.
I would opt for 570's in SLI over the 590 if you decide to go the dual GPU route.

570's of course..they work great and they overclock like crazy.

Have to agree with everyone so far, 570's by far are the best card I have ever owned.  The price to performance is best in case i think.

Single 580. I would never buy a 570, or a 590, too many burning and dying.

Burning and dying 570s?  I would look at SLI 570s before the 590 if you have the space.  You can overclock those 570s and have better performance.  Both the 590 and SLI 570 would give you better FPS than the 580.

so out of honesty, single 580 is better or 590, and for the near future dual 580 is better or dual 590?

Here is the break down, your looking for. The final decision is up to you.
 
GTX 580 SLI > GTX 590 = $1000 vs $700
GTX 570 SLI = GTX 590= $700 vs $700
GTX 580 TRI SLI > GTX 590 SLI = $1500 vs $1400
 
Keep in mind that the GTX 590 is like two down clocked GTX 580's in SLI and when your not using SLI enabled games your rig will be like running one down clocked GTX 580 with 1.5GB ram.  So if you want more power the GTX 580 will give it to you in SLI and where only one GPU is being utilized vs the GTX 590.
 
SO if you buy one GTX 590 for $700 or buy one single GTX 580 for $500 option, where SLI enabled games come into play your GTX 590 dual GPU is going to be faster than your single GTX 580. IF SLI isn't being used your single GTX 580 will be more powerful than your GTX 590 by a bit.
 
The single GTX 580 is very powerful atm playing current games. If you buy one now you can always add a second later down the road to give your gaming new life when games stress your single card. I'm playing Crysis 2 with 64-77 FPS for single 1080p monitor maxed out in resolution, highest settings across the board. Don't have any issues with lag at all.
 
The choice is yours to make. Your 1000 watt psu is fine for two GTX 580's or one GTX 590. Only thing you won't be able to do is run two GTX 590's or three GTX 580's in TRI SLI with 1000 watts. So keep that in mind. Good luck in what you decide and post back and let us know which way you went. I'm curious.

Why not just get one 570 and see how that works for you, and if that does not cut it, get another or Step-Up to the 580.

 
This. I had a 570 HD, plays most of my games great at 1920x1200..crysis runs at an average of 30-50 fps depending on where I am with 16xAF, 16xQsAA...the only thing that really kills my fps is when I enter speed mode, it dips to the low 30's (area dependant). So I decided for another $130 I will step up to a 580 and buy one next year around january when they are 1/2 the price they are now and SLI them..and probably be set for another 3-4 years after that!

Honestly, I would go with a single 580 and you can SLI them in the future. A 580 will chew up just about anything. Or if you want to save some money, a 570 will also do you just fine.

erm...... easily............ thats Quad SLI on the 590's vs just SLI on the 580's

Lol yeah a few vrm's fried on overclock net after being abused to death so it gets blown out of proportion especially by AMD owners. Anyways at 1080p a single 580 would be my choice. No multi-gpu problems and it will be enough to max out any game at your resolution.
