I've tried every driverUSB3 I could find on the web and still, no USB3 in Bios83 (the latest). I see in Bios82 USB1 and USB2, but no USB3. And no USB3 driver in Device Manager. As a-work-around, about to buy a PCIe USB3 card, but it burns me how EVGA could market/sell a mobo with USB3 and yet no USB3 (wink wink). Please EVGA, post a USB3 driver. Any ideas, Thanks i7-980X ( had a good year that year 2011, legally by the way) EVGA X58 SLI 24gb accessable RAM (for full 24gb to be seen must use matching sticks, don't ask how I know). Which model board is it exactly? Only the X58 SLI3, FTW3 & Classified 3 have USB 3.0 AFAIK.

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe USB 3.0 was only offered on the E770 Classified in the X58 platform on EVGA boards. That board was released awhile after the original X58 lineup was available.

Yep, sound good to me OP Because USB 3.0 is hardware based - software is needed; but, if the parts are not there - Nada Do you have the blue USB 3.0 sockets ? - (they have more contacts inside)

"EVGA is proud to announce the new EVGA X58 SLI3 motherboard! The EVGA X58 SLI3 took the EVGA X58 LE, improved the design and amped up the features! With the addition of USB 3.0 and SATA 3/6G, this motherboard becomes a great value for the future and allows compatibility with all the newest high speed peripherals. Have it all with the EVGA X58 SLI3: performance, features, value!" I realize the first batch of EVGA X58 SLI mobo's lacked USB3, as did the printed materials+manual lacked noted USB3. However, on rear I/O Panel are two blue USB3 ports and online there was marketing that noted USB3 was on the X58 line with much fanfare at that time in 2011. BTW, my mobo SLI has SATA3/6G and the latter works great; I just wish the USB3 also worked. Those two USB3 blue rear ports run at USB2 speeds. SO I think EVGA should at least update their X58SLI support by posting USB3 drivers for the X58SLi. Patrick

USB 3 is hardware. I bought a USB controller: Renesas Technology Corp. uPD720201 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 03) off ebay for 15 bucks. It plugs into your unused PCI-E x1 slot at the top of the motherboard. Also, it takes 1 molex power adapter to power it. Very simple to do. And has nothing to do with your BIOS, other than you'll have to hit the defaults on it for it to detect properly.
