after the workshop i have been going back to all my settlements redoing protection and power/water
Whats making me angry is a totally enclosed settlement with walls 2 high and one way in ..somehow raiders appear inside the walls past all weapons and attack the settlement...isnt possible argh !
Walls 2 high and the building is 3 to 4 high overlooking everything approaching in all directions and somehow they just sneak by and appear inside past all of the only way in . :/

one thing I liked about the workshop DLC is the concrete walls/doorways/foundations, makes it so I can build defenses that look truly strong, not just a weak wooden wall or fence.

Also I have also had a problem with walls not keeping enemies out, it seems the spawn point for some enemies is inside the building area, so if you place the walls too far out, they'll be inside when fast traveling to a settlement.

Well guys,
I got it. here I go...

Good luck in the building department. All those new features in the latest DLC. I want to check it out but then I know what will happen and I won't get any sleep. LOL

straight up boring. If you want to spend your time just doing deco on your settlement, yep, go right on ahead. lol. there is nothing else there, I mean ok... you have the arena fights where you can pin your settlers up against one another and/or make them fight monsters and stuff, but that's it (you have lighting, neon lights, concrete structures) meh... going back to empire total war. Well, I can't say I didn't buy any downloadable content for it.

I knew there was no big deal like there was in the first DLC but for me, it was the small stuff like the garden boxes and the fusion generators. A few of my settlements are very close to their caps and I may be able to swap some stuff and gain some room. Otherwise, I probably would have avoided it. Or maybe not. LOL

The enemy inside the walls of your settlements when fast traveling to the settlements has been an ongoing problem for me long before the latest DLC down loads. And I too have to question it.

I will be going back to all my settlements and redoing some features as well. Look out concrete, here I come. LOL

I keep wishing that they would put a marker where dead enemies are so I can loot their corpses like in Far Cry 4 where they placed a small 'x' on the map.

For sure.... Spent forever trying to find out where I dropped a legendary enemy in the field.
I finished one ending last night. Was pretty fun. I have a bad habit of stockpiling all my good weapons for an epic battle and sadly, it only kind of happened.

I think I have reached the 'endgame' crossroads with this "Battle for Bunker Hill" mission. I can end it peacefully and work for The Institute, kill the Courser and alienate myself with The Institute, or wreak havoc and cause total carnage. Decisions, decisions, so many decisions. LOL

I agree. I hate taking out an enemy in a grassy area that has trees and junk. Makes it near impossible to find them without spending a lot of time doing so. And I hate leaving anything behind.

Never mind. Just realized it was about finding corpses.

Still traveling with Cait and for the most part I haven't had any problems with her. She is funny. Shot a guy in the crotch (was the only shot available) and he went down. Cait immediately responds "That must have hurt."

hahahaha. Had those moments. Shot a guy's face off with a shotgun, point blank. And Macready responds with, "that was a confirmed kill."

Most dogs would latch on to your leg and 'go to town' on it and I don't mean with their teeth. LOL  I give him that. At least Dogmeat didn't try to 'romance' my leg.

For those that are going after the fusion generator (as I did) you may want to consider some things.

1) If you scrap any current generator(s) you WILL take a huge hit on the scrapped material VS the building of it. It also depends on the size of the generator being scrapped.
2) If you build the fusion generator your settlement WILL suffer in the happiness category.
3) The fusion generator does take a lot more space than the standard generators.

I don't know if it is possible to have a melt down because it does show negative in the happiness category once built.

This will be modded when the mod community gets their hands on it. It's probably already been done.

Probably, but I have reservations regarding mods. I just don't want the hassles or issues that usually accompany them when patches are released.

Agreed. I learned the hard way when I had some mods installed for FO4. It was crash city all the time.

Okay had to skip past a bunch of posts because you guys are farther into the story than I am, despite the length of time I've been playing this.

One thing I will hand to Bethesda, they can make it difficult to stay on task.   Im constantly saying that I intend to pursue the story line, only to get side tracked by somehing else entirely.    This time it's more settlement building.  Or to be more specific it's building my workshop/storage building in Sanctuary.

As for Dogmeat, he has his own personality.   Just watch him when your kicking around a bit, that's when it'll show up.  And despite his obvious limitations in combat, it is kind of nice to not have someone chattering on and on and on about the same old things over and over.

@Whiskers, Stalin and Zuhl

If you are curious about a mod or mods, let me know which one(s).  I'm currently running a total of 90 mods.  So chances are Im probably already using it and can tell you about stability.   Many of the mods Im running aren't affected by the updates and patches while others are.  Yes, if you get one of those mods it will require you to update the mod itself after the game is changed, but if you use a mod manager, it's not that big of a deal.  And it's only really the big mods that need updating.  Alot of your others are simply "set it and forget it" as they tend to affect things that patches don't need to fix.

I personally don't hesitate much when it comes to running mods in a game and I accept the risks and frustrations of doing so.   Personally, I think it takes mods to fix all the stupid crap that Bethesda did or didn't do to the game.

I'm having this weird problem with Fallout 4. All the music is cutting of about 5-10 seconds, then the announcer comes on. It doesn't matter if its the minutemen radio, or Diamond City radio, they both do it. I have tried restarting the computer, but it still does it. I would hate to have to uninstall and reinstall to fix this issue. Maybe I need to check and validate the files on steam, who knows...

Minuteman Radio does that to me too. The announcer gives me updates about whether a settlement needs help or everything is quiet in The Commonwealth. Just like modern day radio stations that always pause for a message from 'Our Sponsor'. LOL

A little update to a previous post regarding installed fusion generators. Number 2 in the above, previous post, I stated that you take a hit in the happiness rating of your settlement. I have since found this to be incorrect. I have a few settlements that did not change their happiness ratings after I installed the fusion generators. I also believe that when you are going down in the happiness ratings it would appear that sleeping there a few hours changes it to the positive side. I did this with a couple of settlements with a fusion generator installed and the happiness rating went positive. I am guessing here but I believe that having your charisma high (mine is maxed out) somehow plays a part. I also have all the (Emporium) stores in these settlements.
