I'm suddenly having a problem with FO4 either not loading or the screen blinking making the game unplayable.  I searched and this seems to have been an issue right when the game was released, but why am I having it now?  Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a possibility that Win 10 could be giving you issues? I am on a ASUS Hero Z87 with a 980 TI SC with WIN 7 Home and have not noticed the issues you are referring too. Monitor is 2560 1440.
Also, has your video driver been changed recently?

I forgot to mention that I'm having this problem with my laptop on Win 8.1, not the pc in my sig. No, the driver hasn't changed prior to the problem. I did update the driver while troubleshooting though.

I just cleared out Wilsons Atomatoys and packed a few hundred pounds worth of giddyup buttercup parts for the springs and stuff. I slowly waddled over to a run down garage next door and put a fatboy and some other weapons in a cabinet. I fast traveled to my sanctuary and unloaded everything in my poverty palace and fast traveled back only to find zero in the cabinet. I am not too happy. I have a save but I really don't want to back track. That sucks, I figured that once you stash stuff in a box or cabinet, it would stay put... I guess that only applied to containers at you sanctuary?

It's a gamble when you do that. There are some that you can get away with. What I have found was keep a couple of enemy alive so as not to give the site the "CLEARED" indicator and then ditch/store some of the loot, go to a vendor or a safe (home) storage/container. Unload and then go back to that site, get your remaining loot and then clean out the rest of the baddies. That worked most of the time for me. But for what it's worth the Fatboy turns up often. I have several.

Reba is a Legendary Sniper Rifle you get for completing a quest. I don't like it because of its low fire rate of 4 but I can't scrap it either.

OK. Thank you sir.

I believe (as Zuhl noted) that there was an issue similar to this and there was a patch for it but for you it just started to happen.
Is there a possibility that your lap top may be running warm?
Does this only happen with FO 4?

I disabled all beta stuff. The last time I had problems with Fallout 4 just like Tweaked is having it was because an update was being downloaded while I was playing. I check update history and it takes me to a different page and tells me nothing about installed patches.

Problem solved.  It turns out that my laptop was defaulting to the integrated Intel graphics adapter instead of the dedicated Nvidia.  I had to disable the Intel in Device Manager and then it loaded just fine.

NVM, spoke too soon.  Yes, disabling the Intel GPU allowed the game to load, but at unplayable framerates like 5fps.  And with the Intel GPU disabled, if I tried to open the Nvidia control panel, I got an error saying that it couldn't open because the display was not connected to an Nvidia GPU.

I just tried rolling my drivers back to 361.43 from back in December to no avail.

Hey, whiskers54. You'd better check your Power Armor stored at your home in Diamond City. I just got back there and a bunch of helmets were missing and two suits were stripped completely bare. They didn't touch the stuff parked in the repair stations and I can't figure out how to lock my door. I used to need my key to get in. There must be a way to add a locking door with a terminal. I just loaded up both doorways with Plasma mines. Hopefully I'll come home to a few piles of ashes. If Plasma don't work I'll try Frag mines next.

Where do you store it so they can't steal it? The Workbench? Why can't I scrap some of this Power Armor? I've got a ton of Raider Power Armor I want to scrap and the (R) is grayed out. Curie is getting possessive too. She said she wouldn't know how she would react by just thinking of me 'being' with someone else. I might need a Protection Order when I dismiss her.

I'm just using the crates and furniture that was there.

I do go to the vendors there a lot to sell my loot and then go to the house for switching things and storing other loot that I want to hang onto and that may be the key.

Well, it's not Windows 10 because I just fired up Fallout 4 on my backup PC and it was flawless except it took a while for something to download. IDK about this Cloud stuff for Steam because it still had me at level 85 and I know I'm at level 89 on this PC. Maybe it'll catch up after Steam is finished Synchronizing.

I ended up editing the ini files in both My Games folder and the Steamapps folder.  They were conflicting with each other.  One showed my resolution as 1920x1080 and the other as 1280x720.  I set them both to 1080 and that solved the problem.

That's good to hear. I'd still like to get my progress synced on both of my PCs. This one might be down for a few days when I install that EK-Supremacy EVO copper CPU block this week. I'm just waiting for some sunlight because I promised EK-CEO some pics.

Mine synced just fine.  However, if yours isn't, you could always just copy your saved games.

Yeah, but that's a PITA. I hardly use that PC and every time I boot it Windows 10 throws up a bunch of connectivity errors. Maybe my internet drivers aren't loading fast enough. I don't have it in a Home Group as I don't want it messing with my Windows 7 PC. I'll find out the next time I fire it up if that last 'Steam is Synchronizing' did the trick.

You can sell the components that attach to the frame but the frame itself, I'm not sure.

I don't stop with just the naked Raiders. That Gunner Group can be stripped also.
