I've got my hands full on 'Normal' difficulty right now. Most games I start out on 'Easy' and then play the whole game again on the next highest level until I am at the 'Hardened' or highest level. I have seen videos where if you come across a Legendary enemy or know where one will spawn and change the difficulty to Survival Mode they'll drop a more powerful Legendary weapon for you.
I heard that also. I've been tossing that around also. That quick save button will really get a work out. LOL
From what I have read you can not quick save in survival mode. Only sleeping in a bed works and fast travel is disabled. I want to try it out now but that could have been a mod I was looking at also...

whiskers54 stalinx20, A side note. I had issues a while back and ended up removing FO 4 and then reinstalling it. I had the saves still present and I was fortunate that I didn't lose any data.
I tried that. I erased FO4 and reinstalled it, but it was still crashing, but I also still had the mods installed. Once I erased the mods, and reinstalled the game, it went away, but I tested it with a new character. I will see what happens if I load my existing character.
I know what it's like to be in your spot. Nobody wants to lose that which you worked err played hard to get. LOL I hope it works for you.

Zuhl3156 It damaged my thumb pretty bad as I was tring to pull the burning wires out of the case. LOL The Swiftech pump is toast, literally. I've been waiting two days now for a response from Swiftech. Their customer service leaves much to be desired. The wiring on Swiftech pumps short out quite frequently where they enter the housing.
Are you sure it's toast? Did you try some peanut butter and jam on it? LOL I'm thinking they are not like EVGA. You may have to spam them to get their attention. Hopefully nothing else is bad due to the bad pump.

It's PARTY TIME at Stalinx20's place. I think what happens is that reloading the game sets things correctly once the initial problems (mods) are resolved/removed. Now, continue the march!!!!

If what you say is fact, I think I will take a pause on that idea for awhile. Man that looks a lot tougher than I thought it would be. I just did a little reading about survival mode and considering that they are going to allow weight to be added to ammunition I will take a longer pause than initially stated earlier.

watch out for rats attached with bombs to them. As far as saving, you can save any time.

That pump is history. The last time I had to RMA a pump with Swiftech they kept me waiting for almost two weeks after receiving the old one while Amazon showed they had 23 new ones in stock. I had to file a grievance with Amazon and it sill took me a week to get my replacement shipped out. I should have taken the refund offered by Amazon and got the XSPC dual-bay combo unit. Now my video boards are running 10° hotter than normal. I hope that Swiftech pump didn't lose it's cookies and hurl chunks through my loop. If I ever get my replacement I am going to reapply TIM to the GPU die anyway. I am ready to go back to air cooling.

My level 55 character doesn't break a sweat on survival mode, when he is carrying his "double shot" bolt action .50 cal rifle. He's also packed with a .308 bolt action rifle which adds energy damages. He was being shot at by that drone which has 2 mini guns attached to it, and maneuvers around by 3 wheels (you know what I'm talking about?) and then with a turret on top of the building... Yeah. They didn't stand a chance. I have Cait with a custom shotgun with that "quick release drum". I have a lot of modifications in my gear that I found in the game which I customized to make my character stronger. However, my level 5 character on survival doesn't survive more than 15 seconds I have to add that Cait loves her grenades...

I never noticed that with Cait but she did like using rockets a lot. I had to take her rocket launcher away from her for her own good. She was using it in close quarters combat and blowing herself up all of the time. It's good thing she never found a Fat Man. I got tired of using all of my Stimpacks on her. Silly girl! Curie likes to melee combat for some reason. I even gave her a nice shotgun but she'd rather try slashing them to death with a combat knife.

doesn't even matter if she's carrying molotoves, she will throw them first before she even fires her gun. Then she pulls out whatever you have given her as a weapon. I haven't tried mines yet. I wonder....

IDK, but I had a companion I gave a silenced .50 cal Sniper rifle to and they used it for everything even if the enemy was 5 feet away. These companions are so dumb I even have to dress them up for combat. I look at their inventory and they're carrying Legendary Armor and don't know enough to wear it. Instead of scrapping my weapons I am handing them out to the Settlers and Provisioners just so they can have a fighting chance. Most of these idiots are wandering around with a Pipe Pistol with a damage of 11 or 16. LOL

MacReady and Deacon both like sniper rifles. And yeah, they left the AI pretty stupid this time around. Im used to Bethesda built followers to actually put on and wear a superior clothing or armor when you give it to them. As for grenades? No way. I don't let any of them have grenades. Last time on of them got ahol of some molotovs they were doing more damage to us than the enemy we were fighting. If I didn't need them as mules so often I would leave all of them at home.

I think survival mode should do something with the companions. On the normal mode, I just send whoever I am with into the fight and let them distract everyone till they are sitting there. Knowing they can't die is almost an exploit. It should have them die during a fight and then re-spawn at Sanctuary or something.

That perk... "lone survivor"? Is that it? Next few levels I'll put into that so I don't need a companion.

Or do what Skyrim did with most of them. Permadeath for that playthrough. Personally I don't mind the companions being set as essential. I end up "killing" them myself half the time because the idiots run right into your line of fire. But. like you said though, they make good distractions. Im hoping that once the creation kit is released, someone can do something about their AI. stalinx20 That perk... "lone survivor"? Is that it? Lone Wanderer actually. It gives you bonuses for being solo. And believe it or not, I've never taken it. And if I recall correctly, Dogmeat doesn't count against you while using that perk since the game doesn't consider him a companion.

I outfitted A.D.A. with lasers in her head and hands but in combat she's really useless for the most part. She constantly comes unglued at the site of a Radstag and goes running off trying to kill it. I take them down with a single shot while she has to chase it around. I think I am better off with Cait in combat.

Yeah, I outfit my companions with Chameleon armor and I have my ninja sneak on, dismantling every trip wire and tip toeing in the bushes with my super suppressed gun sneaking up on some Super Mutants and my companion will start screaming about a Radstag a mile away peacefully drinking from a radiated pond blasting them to bits with missiles...

The poor Radstag was minding its own business just grazing in the forest when ADA engaged it. After watching this and rolling around the floor laughing I finally put the poor creature out of its misery. I felt it was necessary and consider it a mercy killing. I even got the high powered Sniper Laser perk on my robot! Useless in combat.

Just gotta love them companions. Cant recall how many times I've been sneaking up on some raiders or similar only to have "insert companion name here" go charging after something. Radstag, molerat or the bloatfly on the other side of the map. So while they're off charging down that fearsome critter, they've totally blown my cover and I'm taking fire from half a dozen "insert enemy here". Now you've convinced me. Lone wanderer time.

Try going into Steam and verifying your cache. There might be a couple of files that have gotten corrupted or are missing altogether.
