Anyone else having problems with rotating walls? After the last update I seem to be having an issue while building my settlements. Trying to rotate a wall for placement is no longer an option.

I'll give it a try and see what happens for you. I'm stuck on my backup Windows 10 PC for a few more hours while I finish my loop. I normally only build when I need a place to put the beds for the whiners to sleep in. Back in a few. I need a break anyway.

No problems for me except for the game crashing to Desktop and losing my progress. I built a shelter and some beds for the sissies that don't like sleeping on the ground. Installed the latest driver and boosted voltage. It figures my GTX-680 would start acting up less than 30 days after the warranty expired.

What keys are you using? I used the F and G keys and it (now) doesn't work.

I use LMB to rotate. If I go too far I just keep going until it lines up again.

It doesn't matter what keys I am using to rotate the item on its axis, it won't turn. With the F and G keys I could rotate the item in either direction.

You must be getting those 'beta' patches. I opted out of all beta participation. At least once a month things start acting weird and I have to verify the game cache. After that everything is better for a while except I have to turn the music off again.

No beta patches for me. I don't need the headaches. LOL But now I have one.

Considering that I have never did the game cache before, how would I do this. Would this fall under the "Delete Local Content" section for FO 4? If so, does this delete all the content (including any saved portions that are stored on the drive) as well as the cloud storage?

No, don't delete the local files. You're in the right area though. Look for something that says 'Verify'. I'm stuck without a PC right now. Be back in an hour or two.

OK, threw my Windows 10 PC back on the counter. Right-click Fallout 4 and select 'Properties' and then this box will open. Go to the 'local files' tab and then select 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache'. Got it?

I've had to do that a couple of times now. Once because I screwed something up and needed to reset to default and also because the game had gotten twitchy on me.

Roh roh Reggie. I took the swan dive. We'll see what happens now. I didn't see the properties that you mentioned in your later post. If I have to start over, so be it. The game is still fun.

I went there and this time I saw the properties icon. But, as I mentioned earlier, I took the swan dive. Have to wait and see what happens.

Your progress might be saved in the Cloud or your Saved Games folder.

That would be sweet. I also hope it cures the issue. By the way, THANKS for throwing your system back up and giving me some advice!!!!

I had my main PC together and running but that EK reservoir had a fitting that was leaking. I fiddled with different o-rings and fittings for 5 hours until I gave up and decided to get some 5-minute epoxy from Auto-Zone. That fitting is in there for good now. I doubt it will be seeping fluid past the threads again since I gave them a thorough coating of epoxy. There is at least 1/16" of epoxy all around that fitting. If the pump ever fails, hopefully EK will just send me a replacement pump since it's easy enough to replace. If not I'll just buy another pump.

Needed to reset my main Fallout INI file. I was kind of stupid and didn't save a vanilla backup of the file. This was all during the first days that I had the game and I was trying to get it to work properly on widescreen resolutions.

Well I deleted the FO 4 files and down loaded them again. It started where I left off so that part was good to know. However, it did not solve the problem. I then did as Zuhl suggested (thanks for stepping up Zuhl) but this too proved to not work. Now I have to either go back far enough to see if I can find a good save or start from the beginning.

Did you bind those keys yourself or are they the default keyboard settings? If they are the default keyboard layout then just go into your game settings and select 'Restore defaults' for your keyboard/mouse/controller. It's nice to hear my sweatheart main PC humming away again. It's music to my ears.

The keys are standard setting, no binding. I looked at the game settings option and that is for the video card. Music to your ears? But you shouldn't be hearing that music. LOL

I think you get some menu options if you press esc when you're ingame and it pulls up some settings menu. I'll have to check it out when I get time. EDIT: It's right after you start the game after you hit any key to begin. You'll see 'Settings'. Click on that and you'll see options like Gameplay / Audio / etc. I think it said 'T' for defaults. I just rotate items using LMB and RMB.

That didn't work either. It's looking grim. Do you think if I contact Bethesda and offer to pay them some caps they might take care of it? LOL

Bethesda would take all of your caps and leave you naked in the Wasteland without a companion. LOL I never tried F or G but I just found a video showing that those keys can be used. I just use my mouse. I didn't know you could use the right mouse button to rotate backwards until yesterday. LOL I just kept spinning the object until it came around again. I think the keybindings are part of a puzzle you have to figure out at the beginning of these new games. EDIT: Before I forget a new patch was downloaded and installed yesterday.

anyone heard any more about the beta testing of the DLC for this game? (I know, beta testing for Bethesda is like alpha testing for most others :P ) I heard the first DLC was coming out in march I think, but I do wonder if it'll be a real beta test or a PR beta (I'm leaning to the second in my guess)

I had to register and sign-up for it. I haven't heard anything yet.

You sir ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Something was switched and now I have full control of wall placement and rotation. Now I have to use my mouse instead of the F and G keys. Now I don't have to go back to find a good starting point. I didn't know about the other (G) rotation and kept using the F key the same as you did with the mouse key. I stumbled across the G key by accident. I do like the zoom feature that the mouse brings to that part of settlement building. I'm back in business.
