kaupxtvAppreciate the responses guys - do any of find the card gets loud or experiences any sort of coil whine when in-game under load? I have a STRIX 3080 right now as a placeholder card which my friend is getting given to him for MSRP when my 3090 FTW3 comes in but I'm still skeptical on the thermals.. I just don't want a jet engine going off on my ears basically lol. The temps seem manageable, especially in larger style cases which is what I have. I was thinking about placing 2 / 140mm or 120mm fans on the bottom of my case to pull air into the card to help with thermals too. Looks like I can expect anywhere between 65-75 degrees.. ideally want to try and stay away from the mid to high 70s though.

I think there has been only 1 actual post about whine from the card. However, they started the RMA before actually posting, so no idea what they were wanting from the forums? I think it was their PSU since they said they had a 850Watt from a few years ago.Noise: At 100% its noticeable obviously. On auto setting I barely hear it from 3-4 feet away through my case. My 6x noctua are louder than the thing. I have them set to scale based off GPU temp. Temp: As long as your case is properly vented, I doubt you will ever see mid 70's. If you have a fan at the bottom of the case blowing into the fans of the card, even more reason to never break 72. If anything, just get the 3090 then buy the hybrid kit when it comes out to make it liquid.
ppcliJust want a waterblock for my 3090 ftw3 ultra .
IslandbornBeen an EVGA owner since 980 ti. Seems there cooling design even with ICX always runs a little hotter. 3090 Asus tuf i have seen running as low as 52-53C at 1950 Mhz playing different games maxed out at 4k with Ray tracing. Wondering if their triple slot cooler is just that much better?
