So today I decided to upgrade my Corsair 4000D Airflow case to a Lian Li O11D XL. I have my 360 radiator set as top exhaust, three side intakes and two bottom intakes (waiting on my 3-pack fans to arrive to replace the entire bottom row).

With this setup, my 3090 FTW3 Ultra now runs at  68-69C in game where it usually ran at 76-77C. This is a solid 9C degree in temps although my CPU runs a bit warmer admittedly because the AIO is exhausting instead of intaking but it's no biggie.

Nice, so this Lian Li O11D XL is worth it then i guess? My friend recently got one and raves on how good it cools.

I have a Corsair 500D SE RGB and thought about changing to the LL 011DXL case myself but I really like the aesthetics of my case better, although the LL is more functional.

Idle - 28 to 30
Gaming at ultra or near ultra settings - 55 to 65 (never breaks 65)

Light OC: 200 mem & 100 core - XOC beta bios

O11D XL case with side glass panel off (waiting on waterblock before I close the case up. Closing the case with GPU on air would basically create a convection oven.

With fans at 100% temps are at 57c in game. idle is 30c ambient is 67F. my overclock is +115 core and +248 mem In black ops cold war my clock is usually at 2115. Lastly I would like to say one of my gpu fans seems to be squeaky between 85% and 95%. If I go less than 85 or greater than 95 the noise goes away...

That's a nice OC for everyday use - I had to drop my core offset to 100.  Cyberpunk crashes as soon as core clock passes 2040 - stupid game.

My temps on air, no OC at all with everything at stock settings/speeds.
 
Idle - 30 to 32 degrees
Gaming - 67 to 72 degrees, depending on the games played.

Here with 9900k only watercooled. Define r6 with 2x Noctua intake front, 1x intake bottom, Radiator on top with 3x exhaust and 1x exhaust at the back of the case.

Out of the Box with normal bios. Depending on game 70-74 degrees. With oc bios switch around 68-72 on triple screen full load 7680x1440. Reducing Powerlimit to 90 it stays at 70 degrees sometimes 71.
Idle temps about 35 degrees. After gaming it stays a while at 50 degrees and goes down after time to mid 40s and below.

One time i tested an additional Noctua right under the card but that rises in normal mode my card to 76 degrees instead of max 74 degrees so i need only the bottom Fan that blows a bit cold air to it. The fan direct under the card seems to destroy the airflow from the card.
Overall i am really happy with the card.

I idle at 60°C (25°C ambient).  Haven't run into any issues gaming.

That’s a really high idle temp.

I’d removed case panel or change fan config to try and improve that. If that doesn’t work; I would suggest re-applying paste.

If removing the case panels helps but you want to close it up; my suggestion would be to get a hybrid kit or put the GPU under water.

I’m at 65 playing games at ultra for hours. Idle between 28 and 30 degrees.

Another suggestion is to get a vertical mount so that the GPU exhaust has somewhere to blow instead of against the side panel.

Hi all, I am trying to find the official safe temperature operating range for the 3090 ftw3 Ultra but cannot find it mentioned anywhere. Any thoughts on where I can find this out? Is quite frustrating.

Original Normal bios.  Tried the new OC bios and it would go up to 82c.

Nice temps. But You can't compare custom loop VS original air cooler.
 
You can only get temps that low with custom loop, there are no termal pads that can lower the temps like the custom loop does.

I had a 3080 and it was too hot to leave the glass on in case I had so I have been getting Hybrids or blocking them ever since, Now the 3090 TI was a good cooler on air , was way better than 3080-90s at that time but HUGE

Sometimes the case cooling needs to be changed to accommodate more cooling air for GPUs.
