First off, I don't have words to explain how epic this is.... but, I do have a question.
Was this a kit, or did you make this one yourself from scratch?  If so, is the design yours, or did you follow some web plans?

Yes, I believe it was 6 or 7 (Initially under Imperial design, but I think several Moffs and whatnot built the post Endor).  EVGATech_JaesonW will know for sure.  But that was the Executor, which was an Executor Class Star Dreadnaught.  To my knowledge the Eclipse and its class are the largest ships from Starwars Universe, granted I have read a bunch, but am far from an expert on EU.

I would go nuts if I received this as a gift, heck, my gf would too.... and we're in our 30's and would love that!

Not just a kid kit, and im sure a kid doesn't have the flag officer and command level experience for commanding a ship of that size.  I on the other hand, do

hah wow all these replies xD kinda cute ! But noes I didn't build this I do Y-Wings lol, but on the contrary I came across this on facebook which was posted on my wall by a friend of mine, and I thought to make a topic of it, since it surely looks fabbo awesome right!

Even if I would build something of this size.. noes I would not even know how
This was made by an Imperial Starwars Die-Hard which was made up all from scrap, that is all I do know

Eclipse class SSDs (Super Star Destroyer, not solid state drive!) are not as long as Executor class ships were, but are much more massive. I don't recall anything about how much in the way of resources they required, and a quick wookiepedia search doesn't come with anything either. I always thought putting a superlaser on them was overkill, I mean who else but the Empire could bankroll those size of ships?

    Very cool Lego model though!

That's right, scale is off.   Executor class was like 19km and Eclipse is 17.5km, bulk difference looks close, the Eclipse was such a monster ship.  Really exemplifies Super Capitol Ship chassis.
I know resources were mentioned in a source book, comic or somewhere..... but I do not remember where for sure.

And I will have to disagree with you.  At some point, when you have something that large, its about being MORE obnoxious, I'm half surprised they didn't try to put 2 one in front and one in back, just because they are the Empire, and they can.

    Such an absolutely awesome build!

As I recall, part of the increased bulk of the Eclipse was for a large culture and meditation chamber built into the ship.  It was filled with ancient relics left over from pre-Clone Wars times.  It also housed one of the greatest art collections of the Old Republic-era.  It was called the Sithtine Chapel.
