tlittleton While it's not ideal, I have been using GeForce Now for a few games I play casually - World of Warships, Path of Exile, Elite Dangerous, etc. There are some frustrations using it, but at least I can get a fix with that and the performance is better than the integrated graphics on my old 6700K. Plus they have an iPad client (really a web app) that allows me to play anywhere. As I said in a previous post though, I am shopping for a gaming laptop for now. I made a mistake of not queuing for for multiple models other than one 3080 and one 3060ti. The 3080 has had no movement at all since it went live in September and I don't expect it to any time soon. I'm not desperate enough to risk buying or paying the price for a scalped card.
I know everyone loves to hate Dell, but their latest Alienware laptops come with 3080 cards . And ABS brand desktops (pops up on Newegg regularly) has i9 and 3080 FTW3 ultra for the same price as those Alienware laptops. There are some build flaws (single psu rail for gpu etc), but easily workable as well.

Bora1114 True but that pricing is horrible on the 11900k lmao.
Agreed. It needs to be $400

My 11900K is getting packaged as we speak. Waiting patiently (not really) for that z590 and a 3090 to finally make my build I've been planning since July. Yes, it's more than I wanted to spend, but if you want to overclock the current gen of CPUs (AMD or Intel) it really is the only option. Come on Kingpin queue, let's see some MOVEMENT today!

Newegg is shipping me an intel i-7 11700 today I have an aorus z590 mobo on hand I have a 2tb nvme on hand I have a 4tb seagate on hand I have a case I have a 1000 watt seasonic I have a pair of 32gb ram sticks I have a decent air cooler. Not sure what to put in the case I have an evga 3090 3987-kr won in the shuffle cost was 2079 I purchased a 5 year warranty so it cost me 2109. It has mined for about 60 days while I waited on the 11th gen. it earned about 60 x 12 = 720 usd cost me about 100 in power. So It cost a total of 2109-620 = 1489. which is very good for a 3090. This build is about 715 cpu + mobo 91 case 170 psu 32 cooler 238 ram 229 nvme.2 150 seagate ironwolf pro hdd 135 legit win 10 pro 1760 total 1489 for the 3090 3249.00 which is pretty good for a quality gamer. It is for my friend's wife. I may cut a deal with him my cost 3249 and he runs it for a month at his shop mining for me. I would make about 300 on the build. All warranty handled by me for a year. I could sell 20-30 builds a year but lack of gpu's are killing me. I will talk it over with him. I could do the exact same build with a 3080. but I paid 1300 for it. it mined for 20 days. So I paid 1300-175 = 1125 so the build with the 3080 would be 1760 all parts but the gpu 1125 gpu 2885 and he mines for me for a month gives me 300 profit. or maybe I mine it for a month more drops it by 300 to 2585 my cost sell it at that and have him mine for me for a month so I make 300 and he gets it for 2585 and 1 month of mining power. So basically for this entire year. I sold 2 pc/gamer builds and will be selling 1 more to him. Not a good side business for me this year. The time and effort spent getting gpu's above cost not stupid 2x markup but not really cheap is simply killing my building rigs for customers.

Interesting way to look at it. You are essentially giving him a stellar deal and would need to cash out some coins to be able to use the earned value to pay for the power bill and reinvest in the next PC build. Can you buy PC parts directly with cryptocurrency? I'm asking because I don't know the ins and outs of mining...

staypuftCan you buy PC parts directly with cryptocurrency? I'm asking because I don't know the ins and outs of mining... You can buy parts on newegg. But there some additional transaction fees. Easiest way: mine on Nicehash, then transfer to Coinbase( no fees), then transfer to your bank account( 1.5% fee what I found). Nicehash pays every 4 hours and theoretically you should track all this payments to report it to IRS( but some people uses transfer to Coinbase for tax purposes). As soon as you mined - you owe taxes: you should calculate amount of mined coins multiplied on exchange rate. If you mined it as a hobby( not as business) you can't deduct electricity and equipment cost if you choose standard deduction. Then, when you sell it on Coinbase( transfer to you bank account) it is another tax event - you have to pay capital gain tax( or not to pay in case of capital loose). Is it worth it to have such headache? Everyone should decide for themselves. But also one more thing for consideration: it probably will void your graphics card warranty.

defensor Another week, another hopeful couple of days. Ultimately disappointed. No 3898’s for a week or two. Here’s to getting a 3897 soon.
Yeah, it's unfortunate. Hopefully 3898 drops sooner rather than later. I still might be two drops away from getting one, depending on how big the next drop is, so the wait might be 2-3 months for me.

cmatt0991 I dont understand how... are sturm375 Reminiscing a bit. I remember at the beginning of January, how excited I was that the 3885 was less than a day away from my signup time. I was so positive that I would actually see that 3080 in my hands before the end of January. What a depressing 3 months it's been, chuck full of NOPE, Nadda, Zippo, Ziltch and a whole lotta NOTHING.
I've been creeping for a few weeks on this forum and I don't understand what EVGA is doing... are they giving us Priority or are they making what they can to be sent out to 3rd parties and just to keep us happy they throw a few of the not so popular ones for us to snag up... How many people do you think got on here and actually signed up for this. I just don't see them being very generous with what they have and I'm so sick of waiting I sold my 2080 super, which was a FTW3 I only got 700$ for it :( right at launch to buy a 3080, I know i was stupid and Naïve but I have been stuck with crappy onboard video since and I just cant believe its been 6 months and I have had no luck. I seriously have had to give up gaming which was a major hobby of mine Pre-30 series launch. I have been so thoroughly upset by this whole situation and am just Hopeless at this time. Does anyone have a card they would be willing to sell for not an outrageous price over retail like I could do 20% over $$. I'm just so desperate to be able to game again. Please help me!!!!
It's just how it is... yeah, it sucks, but lots of people want these cards. More people are at home this year, more people are working from home, and more people are buying these cards, as well as other products that are using the same fabrication process. The demand outstrips the supply. EVGA sends product they are under contractual obligations for to third-party retailers, and the rest is sold through the queue. If they could sell everything through their own store they would - why wouldn't they want to net 100% of the profits? If your only issues are that you can afford a GPU and can't get your hands on one, well, things could be far worse. We all need to put things into perspective.
Yes we do but lets see do you have a GPU ATM?... i would really like to know how many people on here don't have a GPU at all and there only problem is that they cant upgrade. I was double screwed and yes I know that is my own fault but i never expected any of this nor did anyone eles... consumers only i mean. Lets not forget that i cant even game so yah i would have considered myself lucky if i would of still had my 2080 super... then a week after i was like ohhh no i made a huge mistake! There has been so many games come out that i would love to try out... I don't even have access to a console ATM... The only thing i can do is sit and watch streamers and wish i could play just a few hours a week. I know it seems like I'm trying to pull a pity party but you make out like I got a card... If it don't really matter to you I'm sure you got an extra one laying around. also why have you only got 36 post since 2016 and your now an associate???? Jumping on the bandwagon?
I do not. Unfortunately sold my 1060 back in September as well. And yeah, it sucks, but I find other things to do. As for being an associate, it's not exactly difficult, you just need to have registered an EVGA product at some point. When I started the crowdsourced spreadsheet back in October, the other redditors who joined me in editing the spreadsheet told me about the program. I was not involved on these forums back then. I think a lot of us have have come together here, perhaps for the first time on these forums, around this GPU shortage and queue. The situation is not great, but it would be good if we could try at least to keep things positive, and hopefully informative, around here.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the community spreadsheet ☺️. I hope you all get your card soon! If you found the spreadsheet useful, please consider using my associate code for your next purchase:

I really think they needed to try to push 4K or high framerate gaming on GeForce Now this year. What with so many people trying to get a high end GPU and (mostly) being unsuccessful, I think it really could have taken off. I've been using it a bit on the SHIELD TV Pro (when I can make it through the free queue), which has the neat AI upscaling feature. You can tell it's not native 4K, but it doesn't look too bad on a 4K screen.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the community spreadsheet ☺️. I hope you all get your card soon! If you found the spreadsheet useful, please consider using my associate code for your next purchase:

philipma1957I purchased a 5 year warranty so it cost me 2109. It has mined for about 60 days while I waited on the 11th gen. it earned about 60 x 12 = 720 usd cost me about 100 in power. Congratulations! You void your warranty:
What is not covered by this Limited Warranty
This Limited Warranty applies only to Products used in accordance with this Limited Warranty and EVGA's published documentation, and does not cover:- Any damages to the components, hardware and/or assembly of the Products including but not limited to damages caused as a result of neglect, abuse, accidents, misuse, or unusual physical, electrical or electromechanical stress (including due to uninterrupted use of the Products, or use of the Products for blockchain processing, cryptocurrency mining, or similar purposes).
And, by the way, don't forget to pay taxes(if you in US), otherwise you can have troubles with IRS.
His product, his decision... who cares?
True, but maybe philipma1957, who probably was not aware of it, otherwise he wouldn't have bought the additional 5 year warranty?

tbf the warranty does still cover manufacturing defects, just not damage caused by mining.
