All that being said, the desirability of buying an extended warranty depends on the cost, the likelihood that your product will fail during the period of the extended warranty, and the value to you of the replacement.

Some products are more prone to failure and I think warrant the minimal fee to get at least 2 more years of piece of mind.  The hybrids for example come to mind with questionable quality pumps and long term evaporation.  I RMA'd a 3090 KingPin because of damage to the radiator and now I have to deal with a loud/whining pump sound on the second unit (the radiator is not damaged this time though!).  For sure I don't think this pump will last the full 5 years.  I'm not doing an RMA right away again because the card is working, mostly not annoying me for the time being (not gaming much due to illness), and there is a long queue - RMAs seem to take a queue spot (mine shipped same day as people got theirs on the queue.).

Buying an extended warranty is definitely a good idea if you are buying a product you know is prone to failure.

I've always stuck with air cooling because it seemed to me that hydrocooling, with pumps, tubing and fluid, made a system waiting for a failure to happen. In the past couple of years, I began to think that perhaps the problems had been solved and I was being overcautious. However, based on your experience, I'm glad I've stuck with air cooling.

Reminiscing a bit. I remember at the beginning of January, how excited I was that the 3885 was less than a day away from my signup time. I was so positive that I would actually see that 3080 in my hands before the end of January. What a depressing 3 months it's been, chuck full of NOPE, Nadda, Zippo, Ziltch and a whole lotta NOTHING.

I've been creeping for a few weeks on this forum and I don't understand what EVGA is doing... are they giving us Priority or are they making what they can to be sent out to 3rd parties and just to keep us happy they throw a few of the not so popular ones for us to snag up... How many people do you think got on here and actually signed up for this. I just don't see them being very generous with what they have and I'm so sick of waiting I sold my 2080 super, which was a FTW3 I only got 700$ for it :( right at launch to buy a 3080, I know i was stupid and Naïve but I have been stuck with crappy onboard video since and I just cant believe its been 6 months and I have had no luck. I seriously have had to give up gaming which was a major hobby of mine Pre-30 series launch. I have been so thoroughly upset by this whole situation and am just Hopeless at this time. Does anyone have a card they would be willing to sell for not an outrageous price over retail like I could do 20% over $$. I'm just so desperate to be able to game again. Please help me!!!!

It's just how it is... yeah, it sucks, but lots of people want these cards. More people are at home this year, more people are working from home, and more people are buying these cards, as well as other products that are using the same fabrication process. The demand outstrips the supply. EVGA sends product they are under contractual obligations for to third-party retailers, and the rest is sold through the queue. If they could sell everything through their own store they would - why wouldn't they want to net 100% of the profits? If your only issues are that you can afford a GPU and can't get your hands on one, well, things could be far worse. We all need to put things into perspective.

Yes we do but lets see do you have a GPU ATM?... i would really like to know how many people on here don't have a GPU at all and there only problem is that they cant upgrade. I was double screwed and yes I know that is my own fault but i never expected any of this nor did anyone eles... consumers only i mean. Lets not forget that i cant even game so yah i would have considered myself lucky if i would of still had my 2080 super... then a week after i was like ohhh no i made a huge mistake! There has been so many games come out that i would love to try out... I don't even have access to a console ATM... The only thing i can do is sit and watch streamers and wish i could play just a few hours a week. I know it seems like I'm trying to pull a pity party but you make out like I got a card... If it don't really matter to you I'm sure you got an extra one laying around. also why have you only got 36 post since 2016 and your now an associate???? Jumping on the bandwagon?

i dont have a GPU too, just using my integrated intel graphic card now and im so tired of waiting and waiting.

Hello,
I've been lurking for a while trying to figure out the que list and process.  I'm not sure how to read enewts card movement chart.  The cards that I signed up for auto notify are:

   3663
      3657

For the 3060ti 3663 my notification is (12/13/2020 9:19:47 AM) and for the 3060 XC3 3657 the notification is (2/25/2021 9:40:08 AM)
Does this mean that I may receive a chance to purchase the 3060 XC3 sooner than the 3060ti because of the time stamp?  Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I'd say you're most likely to get the notification for the 3060 vs the 3060Ti. So for enewt's daily recaps, the timestamp next to the SKU is where the queue currently is.

With that, consider this:
SKU     Current queue position     Your timestamp
3663     12/01/2020 07:32:35     12/13/2020 9:19:47 AM
3657     02/25/2021 09:31:23     2/25/2021 9:40:08 AM

You're over 12 days after the current queue position for the 3060Ti, but only 9 minutes on the 3060. I also think more 3060s are coming in vs that 3060Ti (I'm not 100% sure).

I've enjoyed the discussion back and forth around the "worth-it-ness" of an extended warranty.  To me, my deciding factor on the extended warranty was the low cost to possible gain versus the cost of the card.  $2000 card with an AIO, that's a greater gamble with each passing year, and for $60, I can make sure I get something in return for a failed card.  It works out to about 2 cents a day for years 4-10.

What if someone said, you give me 2 cents a day each day and once every 10 years, at a random time, I will give you $200.  Is it worth it?  To me, it is.  I waste money on a coffee, snack, beer, etc daily...  Not a day goes by I don't spend at least a few bucks on something I didn't plan to...  Very rarely though do I find a dollar on the ground, get $5 sent to me in the mail, and so on.  My point is, $60 over the course of 7 years is nothing, but the gain of one extended warranty redemption is definitely higher than $60.

And what's the worst case scenario?  My $2000 card runs as long as I own it and I paid $60 for "nothing".  I should be so lucky.  I do think their is lots of value in "peace of mind", at least for me.  This is why I always cringe when people ask "is X worth it?"...  Worth is personal and varies depending on the individual.

You have to make sure your EVGA account email and notify email are the same.  If so, you can email evga support and explain the situation, I think it is support@evga.com.

I would also consider if  you plan on keeping the card for a period longer than the 3 year factory warranty too.  If you buy a higher end card, there's a good chance  you will keep it beyond the 3 year warranty period so then getting the additional years of warranty service would be a good idea.  But if you know you are going to be changing it out before the 3 years, then it really depends on what you want and your financial situation.  If the 30 or 60 bucks is easy for you, then it would be good choice for piece of mind.  It all depends on your finances and what you feel comfortable spending.  I do think it is wise to get the extended warranty if possible.  When I get my Kingpin, I will be doing the 10 year warranty cause I plan on keeping it for a while.  But I am on the fence with my current 3070 since I know I'm going to be selling it before the 3 year standard warranty is over.

good morning i really hope this day to be very promising day for all of us especially 3897 cards who have been away from the  queue just 6 more hours.

and I don't want to be negative person but I feel they now dry drooping cards till April 16th arrived then they may increase the drop rate later on for more profits and stuff. i hope its not the case here but cant think of anything else for 3897 people who haven't had good drop for almost 3 weeks straight maybe!! its painful.

anyway good luck today and I hope its the day that we have been waiting for.

While it's not ideal, I have been using GeForce Now for a few games I play casually - World of Warships, Path of Exile, Elite Dangerous, etc.  There are some frustrations using it, but at least I can get a fix with that and the performance is better than the integrated graphics on my old 6700K.  Plus they have an iPad client (really a web app) that allows me to play anywhere.

As I said in a previous post though, I am shopping for a gaming laptop for now.  I made a mistake of not queuing for for multiple models other than one 3080 and one 3060ti.  The 3080 has had no movement at all since it went live in September and I don't expect it to any time soon.  I'm not desperate enough to risk buying or paying the price for a scalped card.

Another week, another hopeful couple of days. Ultimately disappointed. No 3898’s for a week or two. Here’s to getting a 3897 soon.
