Off topic, but I actually got engaged at the French Laundry! Did not spend nearly that much a head though ;) As wine can be 20 USD to Infinity and Beyond :) Laundry was packed so I went to Cyrus (when that was a thing) for my post BA graduation. Should probably get the Laundry's wait list for a belated Phd celebration. Cheaper than a scalped card these days, shorter wait than for an evga card :)

@enewt , do you happen to know how many people have reported a notify for 3090 HC or 3080 HC?
Over the last few days I have found approximately 20 3090 HC reports and about 15 3080 HC reports (all FTW3 obviously). But, other than for the Kingpin, I don't keep an active count of numbers of reports or overall number of registrants...I only try to track the timeline.
were they all within the last week? Trying to get a rough estimate for this week. thanks!

Quick question, I upgraded from a 1070 to a 3060 yesterday, and after booting up and reinstalling gpu drivers, noticed my cpu running 10c warmer at idle and about 5 to 10 at load. This makes the coolant in my corsair 360mm aio heat up to the point where it starts to spool up the fans even at idle. Would this be the change from pcie 3.0 to 4.0 on a ryzen 7 5800x on Asus Crosshair VIII Formula

sdjablonskiLove the RGB. All these builds got me jealous. I have a very budget PC with an R9 380. You don't need to have much money to make cool RGB setup if you know how to use soldering iron. I found very nice DeepCool Matrexx 70 case with tampered glass side and front panels for just $20( but there the catch: it was painted with aerosol can in blue color). I use Razer Chroma Addressable RGB Controller( open box from BestBuy for just $35 including tax) to have one app that control LED strips and keyboard/mouse lighting, half of meter 144 LED/m strip( around $12-15 per meter) and two meters 60 LED/m strip( around $6-7 per meter) in my setup.

What are your temps at iddle and under load? increases in temps are hard to judge or get help on if we don't know where you were and what you are at know under what loads? When you say load, I assume you mean gaming or under stress testing, which one?

Worth noting I entered the Stepup at the same time for the same card and THAT one is still in queue. Ordering was definitely the better option vs Stepup if you're impatient.

I just realised that ftw cards don't fit in my case unless I get 180 degree 8 pin adapters so there goes my hopes of getting 3898 but on the bright side 3888 is coming back by the end of the month

I would idle in the 30s range and hit 60s for gaming and 70 to 80s for benchmarking Now its idling 40 to just shy of 50c idle and hits 70s gaming easily and that's on cod at 30 to 40s % utilization

Nothing changed except gpu, I can understand increased at load due to less of a gpu bottleneck but at idle with >10% utilization cpu should hit almost 50c
