mizzer So, for the Hybrid models... if a guy would want to, say, change out the radiator fans for better fans, what would he get? One caveat: I like things as quiet as possible.
Also, are they 12cm fans?
Kthnx
Noctua 120s. The noctua A12x25 should work. They are pricey, but work really well and are silent. I have them in my rig, but not the card as I dont have one yet. If I get a hybrid, I will be swapping to those.
I was thinking of using NF-P12 myself to save some dough (~$14 on Amazon rn). They come in gray too which is nice.
You really cant go wrong with anything Noctua. I got the crap brown and cream colored ones as that is all they had in the fan I wanted. I wish they had those on other colors, but I have now embraced it. I want my computer to not match anywhere now, just get the higher quality parts. I am only missing the GPU now.

viper809 Is today a good day?
I'm still waiting for 3888 to dip into 9:09:XX....
You are one reasonable-sized drop away...hopefully Monday/Tuesday next week.
That would be amazing, just before they close and take a break for the holiday's.

EK Vardar EVO RGB fans are what I use - they move an impressive amount of air at 50% fan speed while being almost completely silent... they can also move a metric-crapolaton of air if you want to go upwards from there, pretty sure they are some of the highest static-pressure fans on the market. And they have standard 5v RGB plugs that can be daisy-chained, I have all of mine plugged in to a single header, two on my GPU Radiator as Exhaust & 4 on the front of my case as intake fans. They are not cheap though, I'd recommend you wait for a sale, or try to find something like I did, I got an AIO bundle from Amazon that was a 360mm AIO CPU cooler, with 3 extra fans included at no extra cost - kept the 3 fans, AIO didn't work properly, RMAed it, second one arrived actually damaged & unuseable, EK sent out another one with 3 more fans... so I ended up with 6 free fans, and a friend (same guy who bought the 1080 Ti off me) is buying the AIO for his rig next week, at a smol discount ($150 vs I paid $160 for it) even though it's brand new in box (I don't want to give it a try again because mounting is not easy & I'm beyond tired of remounting CPU coolers, next thing I mount on my CPU is going to be a full open loop). Separately the fans cost ~$60 for 2-3 depending on where you get them - but air-pressure & noise wise, they are definitely worth it, and their RGB lighting is nice too, vivid & bright, but not "too" bright. If you want something cheaper, Thermaltake fans are good too, I have a set of those as well, though they're currently unemployed, thanks to the free-Vardars. lol

I agree. The last 5 CPU coolers I've installed (my daughters' and my systems) have been Noctuas. The build quality is simply second to none.

Thirding.. there is nothing better than Noctua. Excellent balance. Albeit pricey. Still, id rather have performance with low noise than to have crap RGB.

Will absolutely backup the recommendation of Noctua fans. I've got two of them in my NZXT H1, one on the AIO as intake and one on the rear as exhaust (with a third waiting on my Etsy bracket to be mounted on the rear as well). Turned a hot little box into a chilly cooler while upping my 10900k boost clocks from 4.4GHz sustained to 4.7GHz before thermal throttling kicked in at 90C. System temps also dropped ~5-10C depending on load, and they're exponentially quieter than the NZXT fan was. Had my doubts at first, but they're the best fans I've used in ~20 years of building PCs. Won't use anything but them ever again for my cooling fan needs.
10G-P5-3881-KR 9/17/2020 9:44:07 PM PT No 10 SKUs "launched" on 9/16, three of which have queues that still haven't even reached the 9/17 release date. EVGA: where are the 3881, 3883, and 3895?

You guys wont believe it.. I THINK I just scored a EVGA 3080 FTW via Newegg Mexico as I was just reloading. Its sold out now.. Its the same price as stores in Mexico ( 1,200 USD the import and taxes kill it) Still cheaper than the ridiculous 50,000 pesos some stores are wanting right now (2,500 USD for a 3080) I'm still going to wait for the EVGA hybrid. I'm debating cancelling all the other queues also.

Backing up Noctuas too. I have an old 1070 where the fans was just crap and whiney so I double sided tape some Noctuas to it then connected the fan cables to the VGA Fan header via adapter. Whisper quiet AND better temps. I'm honestly considering it for my air cooled 2080 as well.

No. JacobF had a 6 hour live stream for charity. I think that is an excused absence.

Notwithstanding, Jacob's roadmap, today felt very much like a straggler day. EVGA had a 6-hour charity stream today that was entertaining and for a very good cause. Elsewhere, they had little compassion for the queues that suffered a pretty dismal and barren day. (I kid, I kid) As is the established standard, as of 4:30 pm PT Friday evening, the North American queues are approximately here (bolded font represents movement from Friday morning’s summary; italicized parentheticals calculate the length of the movement): Card SKU Auto-Notify Date/Time Ultra 3090 FTW3 Ultra 3987 10/07/2020 10:12:58 3090 XC3 Ultra 3975 10/05/2020 20:52:00 3080 FTW3 Ultra 3897 09/18/2020 10:01:00 (00:21:27) 3080 XC3 Ultra 3885 09/18/2020 07:09:58 (00:10:19 3070 FTW3 Ultra 3767 10/29/2020 06:15:05 3070 XC3 Ultra 3755 10/29/2020 07:08:04 (00:16:24) 3060 Ti FTW3 Ultra 3667 12/01/2020 06:51:30 Gaming 3090 FTW3 Gaming 3985 09/24/2020 12:38:00 3090 XC3 Gaming 3973 09/24/2020 00:00:00 3080 FTW3 Gaming 3895 09/16/2020 00:00:00 3080 XC3 Gaming 3883 09/16/2020 11:01:20 3070 XC3 Gaming 3753 09/29/2020 00:00:00 3060 Ti FTW3 Gaming 3665 12/08/2020 13:24:00 3060 Ti XC3 Gaming 3663 12/01/2020 07:02:36

It moved more? I really think if there is a drop next week I'll be in it now. Still hoping not, but thinking yes. lol One thing I hadn't thought about before today, that is further reason to "JUST... DO IT" I could test SLi... if I also get an NVLink bridge... but that's also $80 on something I will literally use once, for Port Royal score purposes, then resell when I get rid of whichever of the 2 3090s I decide not to keep. That's assuming my PSU wouldn't spontaneously combust (it's a good unit, but) given that would be an up to 1000W draw or more from JUST the GPUs, possibly... but then again, my CPU has never gone over 190W, and the rest of my system is probably in the 75-150W draw range... and Port Royal doesn't really use the CPU much, so I should be able to at least do a run of that or two and be completely fine. Famous last words. lol

mizzer I’m now on the notifies for the Hybrid 3090s. I probably won’t buy one but I really just want to report I got the email and have enewt say, like, my “watch is over” and something about gaming goodness... Do I sound desperate?
Your watch could be over...if you say, "yes", congratulations and go enjoy your gaming goodness. If "no", your space on the wall remains warm and ready for you...just clean up a little bit...you'll be here a while longer. Best of luck with your difficult decision.
I’ll take it. Thanks.

mizzer So, for the Hybrid models... if a guy would want to, say, change out the radiator fans for better fans, what would he get? One caveat: I like things as quiet as possible. Also, are they 12cm fans? Kthnx
I will be using EK X3M Vardar fans when I do eventually get the 3080 FTW3 Hybrid. Excellent radiator fans with high static pressure. I currently have 9 of the X3M Vardars in my rig, 6 of which are on 360 rads. Can anyone point me to a proper spec sheet that shows the specs for the fans that are included with the 3080 FTW3 Hybrid?
Rig Specs: ASUS Maximus XI Hero Z390 | Intel i9-9900k 5.1GHz | EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra | Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB 3600MHz | EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P6 | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe | Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB | EK Custom Watercooling Loop | 2x Viewsonic Elite XG270QG 27" 1440p
